@jessesingal Bilbao and the Basque Country! Direct flight from Newark. Food is fantastic. Great side trips, to beaches, mountains, San Sebastián. The town is great for walking and eating and not as crazy touristy as Porto or Lisbon.

Wanna spend part of August elsewhere. Goal is 1) not 10000 degrees, 2) haven't been before, 3) not $$$$, 4) conducive to lotsa writing with some touristing on the side. I think it's gonna be Lisbon + Porto (unless a single stranger on X objects). Any recs?

Reading “Pride & Prejudice” aloud to my big girls. Asked them to explain what was happening in first 2 chapters to see if they were getting it. They nailed it. “What do you think of Mrs. Bennett?” “Hmmm, she’s a lot. She needs to learn the phrase, ‘we listen and we don’t judge.’”
