Thank you all for your support of the SE16 Community Fund. We have made the difficult decision to close the fund.

To help parents feed their children for less during the summer holidays kids aged 16 or under can eat a meal for just £1 in our Asda Cafés. Offer runs now-Sep 4 in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and from July 25-Sep 4 in England and Wales. More info: bit.ly/3uDhMhO

This money will go so far in helping our neighbours. But it won't last longer than the next couple of months and we will not be able to support our neighbours after this. Please consider setting up a recurring donation to the fund, even just an hour's wage a month will go so far!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us at our quiz earlier this week. And special thanks to @samfoster99 and @dmoranscripts for being such excellent quiz masters. We raised an incredible £377!!!!! All this money will go directly to supporting our neighbours in SE16.

We also want to recognise the struggle of all women, no matter their age, social class, belief, sexuality, gender identity and ability. For now, we want to show our solidarity to women around the world – the fight continues and we are with you! #SE16 #Feminism #SmashThePatriarchy

The economic gender inequalities that already exist makes adds to this, from single mothers who are parent and breadwinner, women who have partners but are more likely to reduce their hours to take up caring responsibilities, the effects of austerity which affects women more.

This month is Women’s History Month and Tuesday marked International Women’s Day. The theme of this year’s #IWD is #BreakTheBias. Today we’re going to #BreakTheBias on how women have been financially affected by Covid.
