We recently spoke to Sam, a former waitress from WA, who recalls being sexually harassed by a coworker during work. Her management later told her they "couldn't do anything to help her." The culture of sexual harassment in the restaurant industry needs to change.

We need paid sick leave for all in the restaurant industry. Period. Workers who handle food for a living shouldn't have to choose between getting paid and showing up to work while sick.

For many in the restaurant industry, this is a common occurrence — getting paid mere pennies for two weeks worth of work. The people who handle our food are absolutely essential and we need to treat them as such.

@NBCPolitics In Australia, the minimum wage is a little over $19 and they boast a lower unemployment rate with food price at a normal range. Yes for a living wage tied to inflation!
