@GetRedirects Correct - when possible. Many hosts don't allow that so htaccess is the only avenue for some.

@SEOMike Great post Mike! Those tiny performance hits can be further reduced by moving the redirects to httpd.conf (which is read once) rather than .htaccess

@RoxanaStingu Yes. I used this on my live htaccess file. Anything that was caught by a logic-based redirect was faster because of the "last" tags on the redirects which prevented the whole file from being parsed.
