@jbmorley I’d been meaning to ask - I’ve got used to the Symbolic icon being “the” icon for my current hobby app, but you don’t include any terms of use for the output (that I saw). But Apple seem to disallow use of SFSymbols in icons anyway. It’s great while in dev though! Any thoughts?

I always seem to find myself creating tools along the journey to building my own software. It's been fun creating Symbolic and hopefully it helps people create their own wonderful apps.

We’ve been working on Symbolic, a simple app that lets you design macOS and iOS icons using SF Symbols, and we’d love your help testing it out. Sign up to our public TestFlight beta at testflight.apple.com/join/F6Dp2pUy. 🎉🙏🏻

@jbmorley Sure, thanks! But I don’t feel I warrant that - it was only minor feedback I gave! :)

@jbmorley Feature idea: maybe a quick toggle to use a flat colour BG? You can easily set both gradient colours to the same, but making it an option would add a new “style” that people might not otherwise try.

@jbmorley Only minor: the app it launches to an “Open” dialog, which was a bit confusing until I tried File->New. Maybe bug: the guidelines overlay doesn’t seem to work when viewing the iOS icon? But functionally it’s great!

@intothecast @StephenHilger What’s your most often restarted/replayed retro game, or the one you default to when you have a throwaway half hour? e.g. I usually don’t finish it but I must’ve played the start of Sonic 2 hundreds of times over the years, on every emulator/device capable 😅

@siracusa @rmondello Pretty sure their password requirements included a special character even though the red text didn’t communicate that. Adding one made the “Next” button enable

@rmondello I simply could not sign up with email, no matter what I entered. The “Next” button never enabled for me. (As far as I know, I satisfied all their password requirements, making all the red text go away.)

Small thread on iOS app account creation experiences. I signed up for Hive using their iOS app. I chose to sign up with email, and wasn’t impressed with the process. 1. No AutoFill in their email address field (adopt UITextContentType.emailAddress) developer.apple.com/documentation/…

@parrots FWIW, as a Brit travelling to Europe we’d usually get 6 days on the slopes on a holiday, not 5. (Not an opinion on the pricing, just the length of the pass! I’m a full Slopes convert now)

Finally trying regional IAPs this season. Current (pic 1) converts very well in USA/CAN. But Europeans are more price sensitive ($14.99 seems like a breaking point for them) and only go on 1 ski holiday a year, so it converts *a lot worse* there. So, new IAP for non-US/CA, #2

@caseyliss I was surprised by this when I returned my Series 3, let alone another 5 years later. Aside from anything else the environmental impact seems entirely unnecessary - presumably these perfectly fine watches have to go through a full refurbishment cycle?

I knew this was the policy in 2020; I had just assumed that it had been rectified since then. At least according to my local store, notsomuch.

Today I learned that two years on, when you buy a Solo Loop with a new Apple Watch, and need to exchange it, you still need to return the entire 🤬 watch/loop combo. I feel so badly for customers who are told this and live far from Apple Stores.

@LiamBME any points for most niche hardware on day 1? Runs fine on the Odin Pro under ARM Windows - so glad I can play it on here finally! Congrats on the launch 🥳

@robgough I generally have - it makes some things more awkward/flat out impossible, but I think having that divide is healthier. Would be nice to be able to “pair” IDs though (for things like handoff/universal control) without merging access to everything in iCloud.

Do Apple expect people to have entirely separate AppleID’s for work/personal — or do they want you to jumble it all up on one account? #WWDC22

@mckjerral Huh my streak was preserved. Maybe a timezone screwup if you did yesterday’s before 5am? (Which would be Wednesday in NYC)

@DroiX_Store Have you got any tips on how you got Grand Mountain Adventure to work on the RG552? I've tried installing from the Play Store but it just crashes on launch..

@lapcatsoftware I get this was a joke tweet but we literally have this concept in the UK. It’s called Argos and you don’t even get away with a product name, you need a 7 digit code. Somehow they still have nearly 1000 branches.
