Enantioconvergence with complete stereoretention. Check out how @biomimetic_chem developed a new method for enantioconvergence and in one case joined two enantiomers of a racemate into an essentially single (99.99% e.e.) enantiomer using one branch of the methodology.

The serendipitous discovery of a t-BuLi mediated dehalogenation-aromatization reaction enabled the total synthesis of Beraprost and set the stage for a unique approach to the modular synthesis of indolines. Congrats to the team who put so much into the project @SHBennett_

An unusual elimination reaction, via a carbene intermediate, enabled a novel aromatization process for the synthesis of indolenes and dihydrobenzofurans and paved the way for a short synthesis of beraprost. Congrats to the team. @BristolChem @SynthAtBris @J_A_C_S

I had a great experience working with Andy and his group - the depth of knowledge and quality of chemistry there is incredible and I can’t recommend them enough. I look forward to seeing what comes out of the group in the future and starting a new career @BioAscent!
