Our @SHPUTMB Department of Respiratory Therapy will be recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care with the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award! This recognition places UTMB among an elite group of high-performing programs. Congratulations to all!

Today marks a significant milestone for UTMB and the community we are proud to serve. This morning, the @utsystem Board of Regents approved an agreement between UTMB and @BlueZones, officially bringing the Blue Zones Project to Galveston. This approval reflects our longstanding commitment to advancing health and vitality in the communities we serve. The Blue Zones Project is a research-informed population health initiative designed to help communities improve well-being and support longer, healthier lives. Yesterday I had the opportunity to formally welcome Dr. David L. Vines, Senior Vice President and Dean of the School of Health Professions @SHPUTMB, during a welcome reception with colleagues. Dr. Vines brings more than 20 years of leadership experience, including an extensive background in respiratory care and a strong record of spearheading impactful programs. It was great to have him in the room as we connected with colleagues and looked ahead to his continued leadership in empowering faculty and students.

It's an exciting new chapter for @SHPUTMB as we officially welcomed Dr. David L. Vines as Senior Vice President and Dean. The Office of the Provost invited leaders from across UTMB to meet Dr. Vines, learn about his impressive background, and extend a warm welcome to our campus.

❄️ Update: Virtual Classes Monday & Tuesday ❄️ Due to ongoing weather conditions, UTMB School of Health Professions will hold classes virtually on Monday (Jan 26) and Tuesday (Jan 27). Based on current forecasts, normal operations are expected to resume Wednesday.
