It’s truly shocking to me how many people hold this view so strongly due to Keldons awful playoffs when he was better then Harris all season and Tobias wasnt even much better than Keldon in the playoffs lol
Rick@Bigdickrick9696
@DPGSpurs He's significantly better than keldon
English

@DPGSpurs @SpursMeninBlack he upgrades bench production and just another player that can give you productive minutes. He upgrades rebounding as well
English

@SIRwilliam_ray @SpursMeninBlack You get enough minutes and you will get counting stats. He’s not awful or anything. Im not saying that at all.
Im saying I dont think he upgrades us anywhere that matters especially in playoffs.
English

31M for a 34 year old who doesn’t add anything fresh to table or fill a need. He’s not better than Keldon or anyone in playoff rotation and is aging.
This was a lazy relationship signing imo and I really hope there’s more to this off season because for a team that needed improvement?
They drafted an injured guy at 20, another rookie big at 26 and just settled and overpaid for Tobias because he was familiar with Wright.
Tobias is an ok player in a bubble but he’s not at all an upgrade over anyone spurs already have and didn’t address any real need or fit the ideal of being a 2 way player.
I don’t like it for the above reasons even if it’s not end of the world. Just feels lazy and standard safe overpay non value contract for no reason.
Hope 2nd year is a team option or non guaranteed
English

@DPGSpurs @SpursMeninBlack and he still managed to contribute pint wise and rebounding wise.
English

@SpursMeninBlack @SIRwilliam_ray That’s why I mentioned 29% from 3 ENTIRE playoffs. Not one game.
English

@DPGSpurs yes, the whole team sucked the last 3 games. Show his overall stats and the game 7 against the Magic too while you are at
English

@SIRwilliam_ray Playoff riser?!
He shot 29% from 3 all playoffs and this was his close out game

@EricSal_7 Spurs need lineup versatility. Playing Ju @ the “4” reg season & playoffs will wear him down.We need a bigger 3/4 to help alleviate that.Expecting Ju, Vassell, Castle to guard players 20 to 30lbs bigger during the physicality of the playoffs is not recipe we should rely on.
English

Shiny new toy syndrome:
The only “4” in free agency who brings a more valuable skillset than Julian around Vic, Dev, Steph, Fox/Harper in the starting lineup is maybe LeBron.
Thats really it.
The goal with adding another forward is to provide quality depth next to Carter/KJ that they didn’t have last year in the thick of the playoffs with Barnes regressing.
Rui
Kenrich
Harris
All can help.

@JohnchoVilla Man Mamu couldn’t even crack our rotation when he was here. Now we are going to pay him more to get 10 minutes a game?
English

@ZachNBA_ this Mamu love is crazy. Especially if the Spurs giving him most of if not all the MLE. He couldn’t crack the rotation when he was here and now all of sudden he will crack the rotation and we pay him more?
English

@EricSal_7 Maleek Thomas , Isaiah Evans, Richie Saunders, Kayil if you trade up in the 30s. If you want to keep both your picks or just one, go for Baba Miller, Brazille, Dillon Mitchell, Bryce Hopkins, Tyler Nickel, Nick Martenilli.
English

@EricSal_7 Cenac Jr but if Cam Carr falls it will be Cam
English

@EricSal_7 i’m high on Cam Carr as well but I disagree with you on Cenac. I think he has one of the highest potentials at pick 20. His measurables are elite. His may not help in the next year or two but I think long term he will be one of the steals of the draft.

Some spots where we differ from consensus:
> Cam Boozer (still No. 1)
> Kingston Fleming (our No. 5)
> Karim Lopez (obvious lottery pick)
> Joshua Jefferson (No. 20 as a Trevor Ariza comp).

@Joseph_Duarte The tailgate scene has more to do with the administration than the fans. UH tailgate is anti fan experience. It’s too regulated and it prohibits fans from really tailgating will all the rules and regulations.
English

Reps for Pop-Tarts and Alamo were at TCU game. Neither bowl rep was impressed at crowd.
Alamo rep told me he walked the tailgate scene.
“A few fans thought our bowl was in Dallas.”
😆😆😆
Joseph Duarte@Joseph_Duarte
Spoke to several bowls in the last few weeks and it all came down to perception (and reality) that Houston’s fan base doesn’t travel well, which is why the Alamo Bowl - which has the higher selection spot in Big 12 bowl lineup - chose an unranked TCU ahead of the Cougars. First time in at least a decade Alamo won’t have a ranked matchup. It’s also a reason that as of late Saturday night UH was still in play for the Independence Bowl, which is way down the pecking order.

I'm told the Bucks' Joe Prunty has emerged as a strong candidate to join Orlando's coaching staff.
Prunty has been interim HC in Atlanta and Milwaukee and worked for five other teams after starting out in San Antonio as @SInow illustrated below.

@DonHarris4 Spurs interest is more than lukewarm they just aren’t going to “overpay” or bid against themselves.
English

IF… the Spurs end up with KD, the reaction will be shock at how little PHX got in return. I think their interest is lukewarm at best. Not mortgaging any kind of future for him. I think Houston is most likely destination.
