Today we remember and honor Iskander "Alex" Michel Odeh, born April 4, 1944, in Jifna, Palestine, a small town just north of Jerusalem. A Palestinian Christian, U.S. citizen, and longtime Orange County resident, Alex Odeh dedicated his life to justice, civil rights, and peace. As the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee's West Coast Regional Director, he worked tirelessly to challenge harmful stereotypes, confront biased media narratives, and advocate for Arab American communities. He was also a poet, author of Whispers in Exile, and an educator who taught Middle East history and Arabic at Coastline College and Cal State Fullerton, using his voice to inform, connect, and inspire others. As his prominence grew, so did his commitment to Palestine. Alex never lost sight of his roots, consistently working to bring the Palestinian perspective into American discourse while calling for lasting peace and justice. Today, on his birthday, we remember his legacy, his words, and his unwavering belief in dignity for all.

Finally, after my educational journey was halted for more than three years following my Bachelor's degree due to the circumstances here, I have received an acceptance from the University of Crete to join its Master's program, to achieve a dream I have long wished for. What stands between me and achieving this dream now is partial funding of €2000 to successfully complete most of the program's steps. Your help now, my friends, is what will allow me to achieve this dream. I hope you will support me to overcome all these difficulties and reach my goal.🥹🙏 chuffed.org/project/164695

How did we get to the point Where so many Americans are rooting against America?

💢 An Iranian Shahed drone heading toward enemy targets today was seen bearing a sticker reading “In memory of Tupac Shakur” and “Killuminati,” referencing his 1996 album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. The album’s opening track, “Bomb First (My Second Reply),” is about defiance, survival, and resistance to power — themes that closely mirror Iran’s wartime messaging. Iranian forces and allied groups have increasingly incorporated global anti-establishment pop culture into their messaging and psychological warfare — in their viral LEGO videos and with references like this. 🎶 Lines from the track resonate with that framing: “We didn’t even come to hurt nobody… but it’s my life or your life” “Got nothin’ to lose, got nowhere to go” “Ride for the cause… I’ll die for the cause” “Plan, plot, strategize… and bomb first”

While I was taking my grandmother to the hospital, I broke my tooth again. Everything is happening at once, and I feel completely overwhelmed.

The blood chemistry analyzer is completely damaged. It has been working for 10 years. We are trying to bring it back to life one more time, at least until new devices are allowed in. Please pray we can make it work again.
