@Lclimateguy Models are suggesting a trough digging southward around this timeframe. Can’t got by surface maps. Pattern only. When you have Arctic air collliding with warmer air, energy, and a trough dig, you’re bound to get a big storm.

@NWSBoston @WX1BOX At the end of the driveway where you see the screenshot is where I took that measurement. I can confirm that tape measure did not bend. I lifted it up pulled it out to make sure and I know I hit solid ground.

Fall River, MA Visibility less than 1/4 mile. There was a point where visibility was in feet. 5:12am 2/23/26 Spotter: 16-583

@DuhMoin @NWSBoston @WX1BOX I'm just stating facts. When you can't get out of your driveway. I've seen snow mountains that were high from multiple storms in 96' but that was from plows and bulldozers in parking lot. I haven't seen one storm do this.

What a day it’s been! If my measurements are accurate we ended up with just under 40”. But with the snow drift i could be off. I know Fall River next door was at 41”. Either way… It was a storm for the ages! @Eweather13

@Mighty__Muffins @MatthewCappucci It has happened here in Southern New England. It happened in 1888 (50"), 1976 (40"+), 2013 (40"+), and now 2026 (40"+). What's crazier is the widespread 3ft+ amounts.

Simply staggering snowfall totals in the Northeast and northern Mid-Atlantic; more than THREE FEET in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts. My parents reported 30+ inches in South Plymouth; this is the biggest snowstorm in southeast New England since January 20-23, 2005. This is what I'd consider a once in 20 or once in 25 year event for the region. Most of Long Island saw 24 to 30+ inches.
