Proud resident of Northern Ireland. Retired. Enjoying life in our great wee country.

So is ours, in exactly the same way, but it's never stopped Doug weaponising judicial decisions he doesn't like to attack the Department of Justice or me as Minister. Hopefully, this tweet marks an end to that.

🚨🗣NEW: SDLP leader says Sir Keir Starmer 'let many people down over Gaza' and warns Andy Burnham faces same challenges, with UK in an “existential crisis” 🎤🎥@SDLPlive leader and MP @ClaireHanna was speaking in Belfast as Andy Burnham becomes Prime Minister. She told Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 what she believes caused the “rupture” between Sir Keir Starmer’s government and many voters. Ms Hanna says she wishes Andy Burnham well, but warns that he still faces the same challenges and that they have not gone away.

This is shocking. At an EU Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, Lynn Boylan lamented that it was “a pity we can’t use our own language.” When it was pointed out that she could, in fact, speak Irish, she backtracked almost instantly: "I wasn’t prepared, so I’ll use English."

We can never accept burning effigies of political representatives, flags or symbols as normal. In any other part of the world, this would be unfathomable and unacceptable. It should be no different here. This is hatred, rooted in ugly sectarianism and racism. Last night, effigies of political representatives, including myself, were placed on bonfires, surrounded by flags and emblems. Those responsible have nothing to offer except fear and division. But they will not succeed. I will not let hatred dictate our future. I will continue to build a future where all our children grow up free from hate.

Why on earth would you assume that a Linfield flag was meant to be representative of the negatives suggested in this post rather than the positives about celebration? Maybe you're just exposing your own bias..
