Zach Cregger's Resident Evil film reminds me A LOT of when Resident Evil 7 was coming out.
The lead up to that games release was filled with "this isn't Resident Evil", though it proved itself by the end.
I feel like this film will have a similar trajectory.

I am someone that absolutely wants to see Final Fantasy 1-6 and 8-9 remade in a hyper realistic form, similar to the FF7 remake trilogy. At the same time, I don’t want the 10 year commitment of a 3-4 part installment for each game. The blueprint has already been created. Take the 3-4 years, remake FF1 (or 8/9) and go from there.
