I've mixed feelings this morning. I live in Ely, which hosts the boat race today. But those who live here are excluded from much of our small city today so that an elite can play their games. It's almost as if a small style enclosure is taking place. It feels very wrong

@twose_brian @Livalab @RichardJMurphy Well, I took your advice and watched it in Scotland. The best part was reading all of the terribly posh names. Then it started, and it was so dull that I fell asleep. The commentary was really good though.

@Livalab @RichardJMurphy I dont know what the viewing figures are around the UK, but I dont see why Scottish figures would be much lower than English viewers. University rowing is practiced in both England and Scotland, as is rowing as a sport. Along with the general tradition of the event.

@MarinaNigrelli For the benefit of those who believe that Scots hate English and everything about England, it’s just not true. Lots of my friends and close family come from England and I admire them as much as anyone else.

You’ve got to feel for the Scots... - They voted 62% to remain in EU - Their fishing industry has been decimated as a result - They’re being denied independence by a Gov who...wait for it...puts NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY above all else Couldn’t make it up
