Maybe the most they could do is throw in a few dark-skinned Toads, but there's no way we'll see another human. The last notable one they even included in the mainline series was Rosalina, and that was 19 years ago.

No disrespect but if you're looking for black characters in Mario, whose cast barely even has humans, you're looking in the wrong place. Nintendo games have other black & brown characters that are utilized better in their respective series than they would've been in a Mario game.

Based on Net Worth, if Tim Sweeney were to use his ENTIRE estimated net worth of $5.1 billion (the lower Forbes estimate from March 2026) to pay employees an annual salary of $125,000, he could fund 40,800 employees for one year BY HIMSELF. Let's assume that the devs made 125k each (obvi variables), to keep all 1000 at that rate is $125m, leaving Sweeney, at the low estimate, an annual worth of $4.9 Billion. That's assuming his stock package doesn't pop as a result of retaining that talent, mind you. These are the folks that made him this profit. As literal as you can possibly take it. What is offered is NOT commeasurate nor is it "oh how nice", it's bare minimum for locking the talent that made you a pop culture behemoth behind restrictive NDAs and taking away their security in an economic crisis. You need to save $500 million? SELL SOME SHARES AND PROTECT YOUR STAFF.
