I can vouch for your friend experience as I did a family vacation in this May-June there. Just after landing at Naruto airport I had to take train to my Airbnb location and I wasn't sure how to go as there were change of trains needed at certain station. I asked a lady at the airport helpdesk and in spite of not knowing English fully she checked my booking, did Google on her phone, wrote the method to buy ticket and change train at which station both in English and Japanese and personally took us to the express train ticket counter. All this took her some 20-25 mins and the ques behind us became little long but she told all others to wait and let her complete tasks for our family. Such an amazing experience just after landing was unbelievable. Then our shoes didn't get dirty even in rains despite of roaming whole day outside. it's another world, must visit once.

A friend visited Japan for his honeymoon He was telling me Japan is so clean, that his white trousers, which he wore for 2 days while travelling on public transport continuously, are still clean Told me one more instance where he was asking a shopkeeper for some directions, and a customer came, but he made sure he helped him first before attending to the customer, despite telling him to attend to the customer What a country! I am starting a SIP for a Japan trip now, calling it Systematic Japan Plan Fund! Japan has been on my bucket list for some time now!
