Until the end of June, we will be highlighting the articles from Global Society 38(2). The first of these is "The Prospects of the G20’s Support of Liberalism: International Order and the Sustainable Development Goals" by @SSlaughter70 (@Deakin) tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

Colombia's president Gustavo Petro: "The motto Liberty, Equality, Fraternity that was created by the French Revolution no longer has its place in Paris but in South Africa. That is the new reality." x.com/tema_linfo/sta… He isn't wrong... It's been the case for a while but if this war achieves anything, it is to sound the death knell of the West's credibility when it comes to respecting human values... and showcases the fact that global South countries are in fact the credible ones. And I think there's no recovering from this - at least for a very long time - which is why this conflict is so important: it introduces a new era where the West won't manage to speak from a position of strength, at least morally speaking.

There’s another “threat to global rules”that I’m deeply concerned about @AlboMP How did we ever get to a point where we care more about delays to shipping than thousands of dead and starving kids? #Gaza #CeasefireNOW
Anthony Albanese@AlboMP

The continued Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea are unacceptable. Australia alongside other countries has supported the United States and United Kingdom to conduct strikes to deal with this threat to global rules and commercial shipping. pm.gov.au/media/joint-st…

No this was not the biggest intelligence failure by Israel. The biggest intel failure is to believe it can live in peace while permanently occupying another people That is not to justify violence. But to recognize that peace & occupation never tends to coexist in the long run>>

Just in case you were wondering, Dutton is the chief wrecker of the #VoiceToParliament, using FN people as a political football for non-existent electoral gain. #VoteYes #yes23

For those following Sana Nakata’s posts on the Voice, she’s been permanently suspended. We can’t figure out why.

For the past week I’ve been posting #VoiceToParliament info in replies to #VoteNo accounts. Here is what I found: * Overt racism * Fear-mongering about treaty, reparations * Lies about powers of Voice * Diversion to other issues eg. vaccines * Personal attacks against #VoteYes

This is arguably the most important & insightful thing I’ve read all year. The rhetoric & anti-protest policy against climate activists is not an accident. It’s a well coordinated campaign by the worst think tanks in the world. This is essential reading. newrepublic.com/article/175488…
