@hubermanlab I’d argue that the benefits of alcohol consumption are often actually the benefits of being social. Anecdotally, my local pub is full of Octogenarians+ who drink there everyday with the same people. Community driven benefit, not alcohol. I like to drink with them for the stories.

This is an argument about aesthetics, not standards. EPL has 4 teams in top 10 in UCL, one of those teams finished 17th in EPL last season. Madrid, walloped by a stuttering LFC. AFC unbeaten. EPL has more power, better players, higher levels of technical skill, and better tacticians running the teams. Standards have never been higher across the board. Clubs have evolved away from fast short passes because it has been tactically sussed (Barca vs Brugge). So now managers are looking for new ways to create goals. Even Pep has changed his core identity. Also worth noting Peak City were considered boring. Peak Mourinho, boring. There's always a reason to take pops at the best team. This is just Carragher trying to salt the soil of an Arsenal story that looks likely to culminate in a big trophy next May.
