Even though Uganda’s 2025 Police Annual Crime Report shows a decline in defilement cases to 10,492, the figures remain alarming. Children continue to face abuse from people they trust—teachers, guardians, and other known individuals.

According to the 2025 Annual Crime Report, a total of 191 children were defiled by suspects known to be HIV positive, 94 children were defiled by teachers, and 65 children were defiled by their guardians. Overall Defilement Trends A total of 10,492 defilement cases were reported to Police in 2025, compared to 12,312 cases in 2024, reflecting a 14.8% decrease. Of the cases reported in 2025, 7,019 were classified as simple defilement, while 3,473 were aggravated. Out of the total reported cases: 4,886 cases were taken to Court 713 resulted in convictions, 27 resulted in acquittals, 355 were dismissed, 3,791 remain pending in Court, 1,932 cases were not proceeded with, while 3,674 cases are still under inquiry A total of 4,999 suspects were arrested and charged to Court: 740 were convicted 27 were acquitted 332 were discharged 3,900 are currently undergoing trial #ACR2025

I would like to inform the general public that the man seen in the TikTok video, allegedly violating and abusing a young boy to the extent of causing him to vomit during the incident, has surrendered himself to our offices. He is currently under questioning and investigation by CID regarding these serious allegations involving a minor. It is believed that the suspect may have drugged the young victim prior to carrying out these abusive actions. I therefore appeal to the investigators to handle this matter with the utmost seriousness, diligence, and transparency to ensure justice is served. Let us all respect the laws of the land and uphold the dignity and rights of others. Abuse in any form is unacceptable and must be condemned by all. Bible Verse: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” Proverbs 31:8.
