Donovan Mitchell says James Harden’s greatness is in the same conversation as Stephen Curry, Allen Iverson, and Michael Jordan
“This man changed the game of basketball. Changed the game of basketball in ways we have never seen before. We live in such a ring-dominant culture that we were willing to write a guy off, a guy that has transcended basketball. Seventy-five years, no one has done what he does. You can say the same about Steph Curry, [Allen] Iverson, [Michael] Jordan. James Harden is in there. So yeah, I can relate to not reaching a certain point. I also feel like we also don’t talk about [Harden’s] greatness enough.”

@Blue_Footy @TheSunFootball Earn your spot…you’re behind Joao as of now based on your behaviour and results last year…

‼️Nicolas Jackson has an open mind, with staying at Stamford Bridge next season.
But as things stand, the 24-year-old would want reassurance he would be a first choice for the Blues under new boss Xabi Alonso.

@PeterNotDrury He wants to get paid more…and he’s earned it…but we have to sell for amortisation…so we sell for cash and Touchemi to Real….

So let’s remove bias for a second…
You’re Enzo Fernandez. 4 years ago, you were the best young midfielder in the world, and you chose to join Chelsea in the middle of a crisis.
Now 4 years & 5 managers later, you only have a pre season cup + a third-tier European trophy to show for it.
You’re at your peak, no European football and another rebuild is starting again..
Be honest… would you stay or leave?
Backing him to leave via @lmts_football anyways. Link below 👇

💣🔵 EXCL | Victor Osimhen’s camp have been told Chelsea are serious, and an opening bid is being structured right now.
This isn’t speculation anymore. Internal conversations at Cobham have confirmed Osimhen is Alonso’s No.1 striker target. BlueCo are prepared to go to £85M. The player himself wants Champions League football, which Chelsea cannot offer yet. That gap is the only real obstacle.
Alonso is personally convinced he can convince Osimhen that Stamford Bridge is the right project. #CFC #Chelsea

@itzelfklein Maignan not as good as Sanchez…that’s the stupidity of this

🚨🔵 Spending £50m+ on Mike Maignan when Chelsea already own Mike Penders might genuinely be one of the dumbest decisions we could make this summer.
And before people misunderstand me, this is NOT me saying Maignan isn’t world-class because he absolutely is. Proven. Experienced. Elite shot stopper. But if Xabi Alonso is serious about building something long-term, then why are we acting like Chelsea don’t already have one of the most exciting goalkeeper profiles in Europe sitting right under our nose?
Mike Penders.
Tall. Explosive. Comfortable with the ball at his feet. Calm under pressure. Excellent save percentage and one of the biggest reasons Strasbourg quietly had such a strong campaign. Modern football no longer wants goalkeepers who only save shots, they have to start attacks too, play through pressure and command transitions. That profile? Penders screams it. And honestly, under someone like Xabi Alonso, who values technical security and intelligent build-up, I genuinely think this kid could become something scary.
Now yes, I understand why Chelsea remain highly interested in Maignan. Milan missing out on Champions League football changes things financially and Xabi reportedly wants a definitive evaluation done first. But here’s my issue… why spend huge money plus massive wages on a goalkeeper who MIGHT work in this chaos, especially when we have no European football to even attract him properly? Meanwhile, Penders is already ours. No transfer fee. Hungry. Young. High ceiling. If we keep crying about squad building and long-term planning, then THIS is exactly the type of decision that should reflect it.
Truth be told, whatever Xabi decides, I’ll back him.
But if it was me?
I’m trusting Mike Penders.
Am I the only one who thinks Chelsea should stop looking outside and trust what we already own? 👀

Chelsea’s biggest mistake was believing raw talent alone could replace experience.
Even Enzo Fernández and Marc Cucurella publicly admitted this squad lacks seniority in key moments. The PSG game summed it up perfectly. At 2-2 with momentum on Chelsea’s side, one mistake completely killed the game. Experienced teams manage those final 10 minutes differently.
That’s why the Xabi Alonso appointment feels different.
Not another “head coach” working under a strict system — an actual manager with enough status to demand changes and shape the squad properly. Alonso doesn’t need Chelsea. Chelsea need Alonso.
And the reality is brutal: Only Burnley picked up fewer points than Chelsea across the final 9 league games.
That’s relegation form.
This squad now needs trimming, leadership, and experienced winners around the young core. Because talent has never been the biggest issue. Structure, mentality, and game management have been.
And honestly, when Enzo and Cucurella spoke publicly, I didn’t see players trying to force exits.
I saw players frustrated because they actually care.
