We're glad the @projo is highlighting the intentional efforts we are making. But #HarmReduction centers are safe, no quotation marks needed. Noone has ever died at any of these centers worldwide. Studies prove: they reduce #overdose deaths, save $, prevent the spread of HIV/HCV.

Tomorrow (4/13) at 4:30pm, RI's House Judiciary Committee is holding hearings on several bills resisting criminalization and incarceration in our state. This includes the Restrictive Housing Act (H7760), which would end the use of long-term solitary confinement at the ACI.

When institutions talk about the stigma of substance use disorders, they almost always fail to name its most fundamental driver: criminalization. How can we support folks struggling with their use with compassionate care as long as we’re also incarcerating them?
