I wrote the CARING for Our Veterans Act to ensure our veterans receive the best standard of care. It will enhance how community care providers share medical records with VA medical centers. I'm excited that it passed out of @SVACGOP unanimously yesterday!

Helping veterans get the services and benefits they have earned is not a partisan issue. I’m pleased the Senate VA Committee came together, Republicans and Democrats, to advance these important measures including several I’m honored to be championing.

Great news: the Love Lives On Act just passed out of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee! Surviving military spouses have already faced unimaginable loss and they should never have to choose between moving forward and keeping the benefits their family earned through sacrifice. Let’s get this done. 🇺🇸

My bill with @TimSheehyMT, the Critical Access for Veterans Care Act, recognizes the barriers veterans face in rural North Dakota and tests a more efficient way of delivering the care they were promised through local Critical Access Hospitals. It’s about making health care accessible, convenient, and practical for those who have served our country.

GOOD NEWS: The Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs has passed my legislation that would allow surviving spouses of fallen servicemembers to retain their @DeptofWar & @DeptVetAffairs benefits even if they remarry.

Nine U.S. military veterans are competing for Team USA in the 2026 Paralympics in Milan-Cortina this year, including four-time Nordic Skiing Paralympian, Dan Cnossen, from Topeka, KS. Our country is grateful to Dan and all our Paralympic athletes for their service, sacrifice & continued representation of our nation around the world.

Veterans should not have to wait weeks or months to obtain the care and services they have earned. I appreciate that @SecVetAffairs is simplifying the community care scheduling process & prioritizing communication between VA and community providers. news.va.gov/press-room/va-…

During today's joint legislative hearing with @HouseVetAffairs, CM @JerryMoran discussed the importance of finding a path forward for the Major Richard Star Act and heard from @VFWHQ National Commander Carol Whitmore about the real life impacts this legislation would have on veterans in Kansas and across the country.

During today’s joint Senate & House Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearing, I discussed the Major Richard Star Act with @VFWHQ National Commander Whitmore. This legislation would make certain that veterans who had to medically retire due to combat or combat-related injuries would receive both their VA disability and their full retirement pay. No veteran should have their earned retirement decreased because they are also eligible for disability compensation due to injuries they sustained while protecting our nation. After our discussion, I went to the Senate floor to reaffirm my commitment to working with my colleagues to move this bill forward. Watch below⬇️
