I don't know who needs to know this, but I'm over on Instagram, too.

@canonlawyered I once had a crew show up to re-sod on my whole lawn a week early, before the sprinkler repair guy came, and I was out of town. Later they complained that my sprinklers weren't working to water the new sod.

What the Church actually teaches:
"When all candidates hold a position that promotes an intrinsically evil act...the voter may decide to take the extraordinary step of not voting for any candidate or, after careful deliberation, may decide to vote for the candidate deemed less likely to advance such a morally flawed position and more likely to pursue other authentic human goods."
Child of God🍞🍷@SamanthaRedeemd
Opting out of voting is morally irresponsible for all Catholics. That's not my opinion, it's CCC 2240: "Submission to authority and co-responsibility for the common good make it morally obligatory to pay taxes, to exercise the right to vote, and to defend one's country."

@mattswaim @ZacMabry The pejorative term used against my grandparents was "papist"

@dlongenecker1 Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. 😂

@jdflynn I bought a Jeep a few years ago - couldn't avoid a screen, but I got the model with the smallest screen possible, and I almost always have it off. Sadly, it turns on automatically when I put it in reverse. But worse than both of these is "start-stop"

@petermlaffin I call it late adolescence. Everything is relative.

@FrPBehm Scrolling too quickly through my feed, which is a mix of current affairs, Catholics, and sports, I almost thought this tweet was about Ted Cruz in 2028. Then I saw it was Fr Behm and knew it was about the Pirates!

Give my friend @FrMatthewLC a follow! He has one of the most interesting accounts on this platform.

@ItsAndyRyan @devintoshea How about if we both celebrate TS Eliot?
English

@devintoshea Imagine if Missouri had produced The Beatles, Bowie, Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Smiths, Stone Roses, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Who, Oasis, Gorilaz, Yes, Manic Street Preachers, PSB, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, Iron Maiden, New Order, Elton John etc.

@MrsCathComedy I can’t speak for others, but we had a pretty small guest list for Anointing of the Sick in our family, too.

@dalefan8601 @ManaByte I had a poster of this on my wall when I was a kid...

@bethanyshondark I suspect part of it is our mobility as a society. My wife and I would love nothing better than to babysit every day, but our grandkids live in another state... and we lived a few states away from both sets of grandparents when my kids were little.
English

Lots of factors. Probably our parents generation is more self-centric and want to spend their retirement on themselves. They are also older than previous generations because we’re having kids later.
Nina@NinaPanickssery
Genuinely curious—why don’t more people use their own parents/kid’s grandparents for childcare as opposed to daycare/preschool/nannies (which seem more common)? Is it common for boomer grandparents to show disinterest in their grandchildren?

@Perikcarneiro @dlongenecker1 That is believed to be the headcloth mentioned John's Gospel. Turin is the full body cloth.

@dlongenecker1 There is another one, shorter, in the Cathedral of Oviedo.

@ulrichlehner @JKraschl Blessed Pauline Marie Jaricot, I believe...

@GamewithDave Remembering how much better the 70s and 80s were, before helicopter parents let their kids get so soft inside their suburban cocoons.
