It frustrates me so much that a lot of current greek myth retelling authors who claim their work to be "feminist reclamation" always pick women who aren't perpetual victims and turn them into just that. What about the women who WERE always victims? Why not pick them instead?

@Otomefangirl3 Yeah, I think it's easy to fall into that mistake, given that the figures that inspire these authors the most tend to be Clytemnestra, Medea and Circe. All of them weren't meant to be "good" by any means. Sanitizing tjem creates the opposite effect to the desired one imo
