@IowaOutsider@S_Janowski@Genetics56 Ya so it’s going to be a challenge to compete with so many good teams. I just think if people are expecting to compete for final 4s every year they might be disappointed. Be excited for the future… absolutely but have some patience
For Iowa fans, the future could not be brighter for you. You have a GREAT head coach, plenty of talent to retain. Now to spend the money to keep things together and acquire upward talent.
The future is bright at Iowa!
Hey we may not have gotten $5k DOGE checks, $2k tarriff rebates, 20 million deportations, the abolishment of the IRS and the Department of Education or cheaper gas but at least we got a war that nobody wanted that doesn't benefit us in any material way whatsoever.
IOWA FANS:
Following Ben McCullum and the incredible 2025-2026 Iowa Men’s basketball Elite 8 run, I want to remind everyone the best place to directly donate for NIL funds that directly go to their team

@Ross_duh_boss@JonRothstein “They accomplished nothing.”
I mean, except for the school’s first Sweet 16 in 27 years and first Elite 8 in 39.
But I mean other than that.
😂
@JonRothstein They accomplished nothing. The Cignetti comparisons are disgusting. Scrappy 12 loss power 5 team with a week of streaky shooting. Not special at all
Iowa AD Beth Goetz tells me the following after the Hawkeyes' run to the Elite Eight under Ben McCollum:
"I couldn’t be more thrilled with what our program has accomplished and the leadership of Coach McCollum.
We are excited about Ben’s future here at Iowa and will work in partnership with him toward continued success."
Cubs President of baseball opts Jed Hoyer said one of the major demands by Hoerner and his agency was a full no- trade clause.Hoyer said there would not been an agreement without it.
@IndyHawk89 Great. But even good teams are going to lose 2 out of 3 at times. And they aren’t always going to be to other good teams. That’s baseball. Getting frothy about this is laughable.
@S_Janowski Yes but I’m just saying games in March and April are just as important as games in September and losing 2 of 3 to a team that will finish last in their division isn’t a good start.
@S_Janowski I agree no reason to be worked up unless it creates a hole they can’t get out of in the first week or so, Braves started 0-7 last year and the season was over because while it’s 7 games it was a hole they could never get out of.
@IndyHawk89 The season is 162 games long. There will be a ton of ups and downs. How many games will they win that they “should” have lost.
Getting worked up now is wild.
NEWS: Following Memphis head coach Charles Huff’s decision to ban players from listening to rap music, QB Marcus Stokes has announced plans to enter the transfer portal. Via @PeteNokos_
Stokes was named D2CCA Super Region 2 Offensive Player of the Year in 2025
@S_Janowski@Genetics56 Sorry been seeing so many calling McCollum the basketball version of Cignetti and how next year is the year. This roster is far from elite. They went 10-10 in big ten with a 1st round point guard.
In his lone year in Iowa City, Bennett Stirtz was beyond critical to setting the new standard for Hawkeye basketball.
From Northwest Missouri State to Iowa, the future first-round NBA Draft pick turned down multiple seven-figure offers in the portal to follow the one coach who believed in him from day one. Now, he'll forever be known as one of the cornerstones for the new, exceedingly bright future that is ahead of the Hawkeyes.

@S_Janowski@DavidEickholt@EliotClough My issue was with the implication that Iowa didn’t pay him life changing money. It is likely that the discount was bigger than I thought. If you are getting paid that much, it is a lot easier to leave some on the table to stay with the coach you know and will increase NBA stock.
