@boilerjoe99 @JOBhakdi Delaying or possibly deterring China from invading Taiwan. Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, Russia, China - it’s all connected. These are pre-emptive moves by the US designed to prevent a more serious conflict later.

I think his personality has shown (so far) that he is actually smart . That means this is a bluff. If I am wrong, it would be a pattern break on his side . Possible , since he is really old, but unlikely .

Futures were ugly. Now they aren’t as ugly. I wonder if the market might be holding back from pricing in the worst. More escalation, higher oil, bad for stocks. Trump has obviously escalated with the blockade. S&P really not acting like he did…maybe tomorrow morning is when the real action begins but there may be a world where the markets, once again, believe Trump is using this to negotiate and are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt to enter “Round 2” of negotiations. If we full on escalate at the Strait and start fighting back and forth, it would feel bearish. Trump’s posts make you think that would happen. The market…which just pulled a +7% move in 2 weeks and took many sectors down like SaaS, might not easily just give back that gain because of the amount of people willing to 1) buy oversold sectors like $IGV and 2) bet that Trump doesn’t go all the way. Do you think we go back to March 30th lows?

Today “only” 32 Cybercabs were on the W side outbound lot, but in 3 different groups, one of which was lined up on the W side of the EOL facility & I captured some of these driving into the facility. I also saw Cybercabs exiting off the main highway & onto the Giga Texas property & driving around the site along with about a dozen at the Crash Testing facility today. I did not see Cybercabs exiting the factory portal today, but it is a Friday which is a normal non-production day, so that was not surprising.

Did you know that you can retire on just $870,000 and NEVER WORK AGAIN? Did you know your financial advisor has been LYING to your FACE for 30 years? Bless his heart. He said you needed $2.5 million to retire on $100K/year. He has a boat named “Your Fees.” That advice is dead. I killed it. You’re welcome. STRC pays an 11.5% dividend. Tax-deferred. Paid monthly. Which means $870,000 - LESS than a median California house that doesn’t even have a yard… …generates $100K/year FOREVER. Your advisor’s boat is sinking. No selling. No rebalancing. No “have you considered your risk tolerance” phone calls at 9am. Just a number going up in your brokerage account while you drink coffee in a bathrobe at 11am on a Tuesday like God intended. $870K. That’s it. That’s the exit number. Not $2.5M. Not “grind for 40 years and die with good posture.” $870,000 and STRC does the rest while you become insufferable at dinner parties. ✅ Retire before your knees give out ✅ Tell your boss what you actually think (do it) ✅ Live off dividends while everyone else lives off vibes Your financial advisor needs 40 years of your labor to fund his lifestyle. STRC needs $870K to fund yours. Choose accordingly. Buy STRC. Pocket the yield. Become the problem.

I don't think the new more affordable Tesla model is going to be a lower-price Model Y trim. Tesla said multiple times in past they will release new "models" and not new "trims". A good example of this is the new Model Y L (long) shown in China. This is not a new trim. It's clearly a new model with longer wheelbase and longer body to accommodate 6 seats. While it looks like a Model Y in many ways (thus keeping the Model Y in the Model Y L name) there are enough differences where it's a new model. Also it appears the Model Y L will more more expensive than the Model Y, so this isn't the new affordable model. I think similarly it's likely that the new affordable model is a slightly smaller Model Y. Shorter wheelbase, shorter body, and less built-in options. Basically a smaller, more affordable Model Y. But there will be lots of changes due to the wheelbase and car being shorter. Yet it will still look like the Model Y, so perhaps the car will be called something similar to the Model Y (ie., Model Y S). I am just speculating here. Another reason why I think this to be case is that Tesla in the past has said that the new models will help them utilitize and maximize current manufacturing lines (vs building new ones). This can be accomplished with the Model Y L and Model Y S because most of the parts are the same, yet they are different models due to length/size differences. Further, Tesla knows that just a cheaper "trim" of the Model Y is not sufficient to drive significant increase of manufacturing volume to fully utilize their existing manufacturing lines. They've had cheaper trims of their current cars in the past and they understand the impact to demand/volume. A new slightly that's slightly less expensive is not going to move the needle like Tesla has forecasted with the new affordable model(s). What will drive volume (manufacturing and sales) is a substantially cheaper model... in other words, a Model Y S that is basically a stripped down Model Y but is shorter as well. This will be Tesla's most affordable vehicle by far. And it will likely not cannabalize or take too many sales from the existing Model Y because the Model Y will be slightly larger and overall a much better car. But make no mistake, the Model Y S will be a great car. Tesla doesn't make any cars that aren't great. It will drive great, and be an amazing car for the price. How much will it cost? My guess is $35-40k. Alright, all of this is speculation on my part, and I can (and might) be wrong. And that's fine. Nobody really knows what's going on except those inside Tesla. So we'll have to wait and see until Tesla reveals their new more affordable car in Q4. Will it be a new affordable model like the Model Y S? Or will it be just a cheaper trim of the existing Model Y? What's your take?

When your working life rewards you, it’s easy to ratchet up the complexity: homes, cars, travel, possessions etc. I have found that all that complexity comes at the sake of your most fleeting asset: your time. Instead of building things, all of a sudden you’re dealing with minutiae and logistics. Instead of talking mostly to engineers, you’re talking mostly to non-engineers. The building stops…the business of managing self inflicted complexity begins. It’s worth noting that the best players in the game (Buffett, Elon) have kept their life extremely basic, almost monastic/nomadic, as success ratcheted them ever higher. I think it’s the biggest secret hiding in plain sight: When the world upgrades your status, downgrade your complexity.
