My wife and I have the same code on our phones. We have it that way in case one of us dies and the other needs to access financial accounts. Same with our computers. Everyone that raves about privacy doesn't understand marriage. There is no privacy anymore. We are one. Her life is my life, and vice versa. We don't read each other's stuff because there's no need, but I wouldn't care if she did.

Oh, for crying out loud, it's not exploratory surgery. It's a freaking cheek swab. Get over yourself. You're simply not going to shame men into silence on this. You call it paranoia, but the guys that had that gut feeling and did the test, only to find out their wife is a lying whore were called paranoid too. Shaming tactics and threats aren't working anymore. Men no longer care what women think because we see how the game is played.

@variedints @SaaSyy_CFO Nope. It should be available for those who want it (like it is). You don't get to force other people to perform tests on their babies that they didn't request just because you don't trust your wife. Thats your issue.

We should not be making processes mandatory because men are paranoid that their wives have cheated on them. Yes, some wives cheat, but many don't. I am not having a mandatory test done on any of my children because YOU are paranoid. My husband is not, nor does he want unnecessary testing done on his children. Pay for your own tests and don't be surprised if it blows up in your face.
Jonathan@mas_uncovered

im glad for you guys. But you just opened a process for which guys are now going to be very skeptical about women. But because you are a woman, you dont really know what you have done. In fact you blamed a man for being from this point on skeptical. Again you opened a can of worms you did not want to. Congrats.

my husband actually thinks I'M the problem because I don't want him leaving me alone with our newborn for a whole weekend so he can take his mom sightseeing. yeah, you read that right. he wants to drive 8 HOURS away to a city i've never even been to, while i'm recovering postpartum, dealing with a brand new baby, and probably trying to establish breastfeeding. his mom is visiting from out of the country, and we already went through it about visitor boundaries. i said no one the first month, even

@SaaSyy_CFO Men can ask their wives for paternity tests whenever they want. Go ahead, noone is stopping you. What isnt going to happen, is making paternity tests mandatory for all because YOU are paranoid or have a shitty wife. They are your problems, stop trying to make them a shared one.

If married, they don't have a choice. They're legally responsible until proven otherwise. Mom's permission isn't needed. If not married, it should be required whether mom likes it or not before a man is put into the system and wrung out for child support. But moms have this outsized idea of ownership over their children that's kinda hilarious considering the whole point is proving someone else is equally responsible.

Well I'd assume they've refused to go on the birth certificate since they don't believe the child is theirs, so actually they would need the mothers permission. And this was never about whether they would need permission, its about whether they should be mandatory for all which they shouldn't. If men want a paternity test, go ahead and arrange one. But if your wife is innocent don't be surprised if she divorces you.

My boomer dad paid $14,000 for his entire four year degree. Mine cost $95,000 at a state school. His was a private university. When I told him about my loans he said I picked the wrong school. His private university cost less than my state school. He doesn’t see the irony. He never will.

@jeremyct A quick Google search says 14k in 1978 is the same as 71k today. So yeah, you spent too much, and your dad is right. The fact you don't understand that is proof.

My wife, who is not chronically-online and usually blissfully unaware of the present discourse surrounding marriage, is quick to remind me that normal people are out here just living their lives. It's a vocal minority spewing the anti-marriage hate, and a lot of them are just doing it for clicks. I hope she's right.

Looking at the rest of you married folks like us. If the overwhelming majority of married couples were in marriages they actually enjoyed, resulting in significantly driving down the divorce rate, marriage would be seen as a much sexier institution than it currently is. But for that to happen, husbands and wives need to get real honest about what actually makes a marriage enjoyable, especially given the current reality of everything working against it. Letting go of the fairytale that attraction and sex aren’t that important and marriage is a partnership is a great place to start. -R

@RudeOnion Lol! He's employing a level of manipulation women are known for, and they'd call him scummy. It's Reddit, so it's likely made up, but it does make perfect sense and does point out the hypocrisy.

People might call him scummy or manipulative for this, but she entirely shot down couples/sex therapy, indicating she has no desire to even try to change things otherwise. Doesn't sound like he's threatening her with leaving or anything. Honestly....fair play, dude.

I would never have said men want silence. They want peace. I've been married 24 years, and the key to my happiness with her has been her ability to help maintain a peaceful balance in our home. I grew up with a chaotic mother with poor emotional regulation, so I would choose solitude before I would live with that again.

I can tell you from the men in my life that "all men want is silence" is greatly exaggerated. My husband can turn a 10-minute story into a 3-part documentary series, and I happily listen. You don't want silence. You just haven't found a woman whose company is better than your solitude.

Survival mode... Like there's lions and Tigers chasing them or something. You know what makes the emotional safety argument fall apart? The fact women can claim they don't feel emotionally safe, but can fall asleep like a baby next to the man they claim doesn't make them feel safe. It's such a crock of shit designed to excuse shit behavior and attitudes. Emotional safety is a condition wherein a woman never has to be accountable or look at her own behavior, and change.

50 happily married women were asked, “What are the sexiest things your husband does?” Their answers were almost identical. It wasn’t their husbands’ bodies. It wasn’t money. It wasn’t romance. Here’s what they said instead…

Me senté.

@Hailey_Monroe_ Then you messed up. You still should have respected your husband's wishes, regardless. He leads your home, not your father-in-law. There could have been reasons you were not privy to, and your husband was protecting your modesty.
