LASCOPA WARNS CONSUMERS AGAINST CONSUMPTION OF SPOILED TOMATOES  The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), has warned residents against the consumption of spoiled or fungus-infested tomatoes popularly known as “Ata Esha,” citing serious health risks associated with such products. The General Manager of the Agency, Afolabi Solebo, urged consumers to avoid purchasing or consuming tomatoes showing visible white, green, or black fungal growth. According to him, fungi found on spoiled tomatoes may produce harmful toxins, including aflatoxins, which can lead to severe health complications such as liver damage and other related diseases. Speaking on the importance of healthy food consumption, Solebo stated that “a healthy person is determined by what he or she consumes from time to time.” He further explained that cooking, boiling, or frying contaminated tomatoes may not eliminate the harmful toxins, thereby making such food unsafe for human consumption. The General Manager also cautioned consumers against purchasing spoiled tomatoes because they are cheaper, stressing that health and safety should always take precedence over cost considerations. Solebo encouraged Lagos residents to carefully inspect food items before purchase and avoid visibly spoiled or mouldy tomatoes and other food products. He also advised consumers to properly dispose of contaminated food items and report the sale of unsafe, expired, or spoiled products to the appropriate government agencies responsible for public health, environmental safety, and consumer protection. Furthermore, he noted that consumers have fundamental rights as well as responsibilities, including being well-informed about products and services, speaking out against unfair practices, and making ethical and environmentally conscious choices. A: What kind of relationship are you having with another man's daughter that is making her ask you for such. What kind of laxity does the parents have towards their daughter that's making her ask you for such. If you are parents and you are leaving your daughter to collect school fees from a prospective husband, you are not doing well. The religion didn't give that kind of responsibility on a man. That you propose to her doesn't mean her responsibility is on your neck. What brings responsibility on your neck is 'Aqd, that is, when the father said 'I marry my daughter to you'. Before that, no parents should transfer responsibility to prospective inlaws. Sometimes, it's the girl that exploit the man on her own. They turn to gisting mate, going out together with a man she's not married to. I think one of the problem with this kind of thing is that modesty is lost now. We are on those ahadith I refer to them as *Narrations of Deterrent* Ahadith that shows us and makes an individual to distance himself or herself away from sinfulness. Don't continue upon lies, don't continue to be upon; Zina, drinking alcohol, abandoning Solah, riba, abandoning Hijab, refusing to pay Zakah and all other sins we know. Go back to the drawing board and stop being upon sins. Don't say Allah will show you mercy while you continue to be upon sins. You are expecting mercy and blessings from the One you are disobeying and hardly abide by His injunctions. It is stupidity. Hadith 15 Also in the Musnad of al-Imam Ahmad on the authority of Jabir who said: “We went out with the Messenger of Allah to perform the funeral of Sa'd bin Mu'ādh. When the Messenger of Allah prayed over him and he was placed in his grave and it was leveled. The Messenger of Allah began to glorify Allah for a long period of time, and then he made takbir, so we did the same. It was then said: “Why did you make tasbih and then takbir?” He replied: (The grave of this pious servant was squeezed until Allah eventually relieved him). (Explanation) When Sa'ad died, the Prophet told us that Allah throne vibrated, yet when he died, his grave squeezed him until Allah relieved it. How about a person that has been disobedient, the one not performing solah, the one not wearing hijab, a husband that is not responsible, a wife that is disobedient? And in all of these, with all his/her sins, he/she still thinks that he or she will get the best treatment from Allah. If this happens to a righteous person, how about the unrighteous ones? May Allah protect us and make us people who regularly repent whenever we err. Hadith 16 A narration has been collected by al-Bukhari in his Sahih, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri states: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘When a dead body is prepared, and the men carry it on their shoulders, if the deceased was pious, it will say: 'Take me in haste,' but if he was not, it will say: 'Woe to it. Where are you taking me?' Everything except man hears its voice. If the human being were to hear its voice, he would have surely died.” (Explanation) When a bad soul is being taken to the grave, he will be shouting, 'where are you taking me?', he will be crying. The prophet said, if people of the world should hear the cry of such person, they will die. This is what we joke with. Yoruba will say (as an excuse to continue in sin) 'Olohun asanu wa' (Allah will show us mercy) 'Olohun o le to yen' (Allah is not severe in punishment). Abandon the sins. Abandon obscenity. Abandon Zina, lies, alcohol. Keep away from bad friends. If you die upon them you will be among those who will cry when they're being carried to the grave. Whoever dies upon impiety and unrighteousness, their end will be bad. Your deeds are bad, you are upon deeds that brings evil repercussions and you are still expecting Mercy from Allah. Abandon sins!. Hadith 17 Also in the Musnad of al-Imam Ahmad on the authority of Abu Umamah who said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘On the Day of Resurrection, the sun draws as close as a mile and a certain amount of heat will be added to it. The heads will boil just as the cooking pots boil. The people will sweat in accordance to their misdeeds, from them are those whose sweat will reach their ankles, from them are those whose sweat will reach their shins, from them are those whose sweat will reach their mid-section and from them are those who will be drowned in their sweat.’” (Explanation) That your abandoning Solah, your abandoning hijab, you abandoning your children - not taking care of them, that your Zina, that your Yahoo-yahoo, that your indecency will make you sweat on the day of Qiyāma when the sun is brought near to you.

The One who placed the stars as lamps in the sky, And set the sun and moon in perfect balance, The Giver of life and the Taker of it, The Ever-Living, who never dies, The Sustainer, whom all creation depends upon, The Knower of the seen and the unseen, The First, nothing came before Him, The Last, nothing will remain after Him, The Most High, above all that we can imagine, He is Allah… There is none worthy of worship except Him.
