Hey! I’m that med student you spoke with last night and I fully agree with you. But instead of emphasizing exam scores, we need residencies to value more holistic qualities in candidates. Humanism and interpersonal skills needs to be appreciated as much as scores and pubs.

Match is framed as a joyous occasion but it’s probably one of the reasons residents lack mobility, control and competitive pay. A better system would be a job market year round, getting multiple offer then negotiating pay & it being private—you know like every other profession
