I reiterate; this is our WORST democratic government since 1999 No amount of gaslighting, intimidation, lies & tribal bigotry will change that fact. We have never had it this bad.

“Three days before I retired in Kano, I seized hard drugs worth nearly three billion naira. But up till now, I have not received any information on what was done with the drugs. Some people even said the drugs were released and returned to those who owned them.” — Muhammad Wakili (Singham), former Commissioner of Police, Kano State

Say no when you are in recovery mode. I promise the world will be alright, you didn’t make it. So when you are spent, shut the world out, silence the noise until you enter flow state and you need not explain to anybody. Your happiness is your responsibility and no one else’s.

So, telecommunications companies woke up one day and increased the price for data by over 500% and we’re just okay? Data that doesn’t last. Watch 3 videos on TikTok and they’ll tell you you’ve used 1GB. God, I hate the impunity that goes on unchecked here so much.

There is incompetence and there is sheer wickedness and evil. This government is the latter. It's a grave mistake to categorize them as the former.

Wato “musical voice” Gaskiya neeee 🤣😭😂 @Uncle_Beccs
Mujahid Saleh Saad@MujahidSSaad

The trending topic today, reminded me of when I met the subject of that conversation. It was one beautiful afternoon in March. My husband and I had just checked out and were waiting for our ride in the lobby of the Radisson Blu Hotel V.I, when the Honourable Minister of Arts and Culture, Hannatu Musawa, stepped out of the lift with her luggage. She walked over to the reception with her team to check out as well. Now, let me tell you something about myself. Whenever I see celebrities or public figures in public spaces, I prefer to admire them from a safe distance. Partly because I’m actually very shy, but also because I have a very real fear of picking the wrong moment, approaching them, and being politely (or not so politely) dismissed. So, as usual I kept staring. No bold steps. My husband, tired of watching me smile like a lunatic, and afraid that i might start buffering in real life, he decided to intervene. He walked up to her, introduced himself, and said, “My wife is a huge fan, but she’s too shy to come say hello.” Next thing I know, she’s walking toward me, smiling warmly. And in that musical voice of hers, she said, “Ina gajiya?” At that point, my brain politely excused itself. We exchanged pleasantries. Well, mostly she and my husband did, because I had suddenly lost the ability to form coherent sentences. She was incredibly kind, so humble, and more beautiful in person. She is a fashionable woman, who obviously loves sunglasses. Small, medium, and even those big enough to influence conversations about glasses amongst Nigerians. And just before she left, she said, “It was nice meeting you.” Nice to meet who, ? That was supposed to be my line, ma'am The honour, was entirely mine. P.S For those of you the devil is pushing to talk about my height, kindly resist the temptation. There is enough war going on in the world Cc: Zainab Ali
