They arrived in this country legally, followed the rules, respect this country and its system of law and order and are among the most dedicated and accomplished contributors to American society. I ask that you and your department consider these factors, plus the personal and political risk many of these young people would face if sent back to the criminal regime in Iran. America’s concerns for its national security and the threat posed by the Islamic regime to the homeland are entirely justified. To that end, my office stands ready to provide you and your colleagues with regime operatives, propaganda agents, and influence networks for investigation and removal from the United States. Not a tough hill to door on. Residency is a meritocracy, not a domestic entitlement. Per NRMP 2026, USMD match rates remain at 93.5%, but non-U.S. IMGs hit a 5-year low of 56.4%. The system isn't "replacing" Americans; it’s filtering top 1% global talent to maximize patient care

Today is Norooz, the Persian New Year. This clip is from the last normal Iranian Norooz in 1979. The Great Shah of Iran, HIH Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and HIH Queen Farah Pahlavi sent what would be their final Norooz well wishes.   It was the last time Iranians freely celebrated Norooz, bringing artists on stage and dancing.   The regime took that away from us for 47 years. I’m an Iranian physician, and I’ve helped multiple 12-year-olds give birth to their second or third child. Read that again. This is happening in Iran, permitted by law and enabled by a deeply patriarchal system that we are fighting against!
