@Kefasgyurison @dotunodumosu @ruffydfire I keep telling people that the PTDF scholarship is purely based on merit, but I don’t understand why many Nigerians assume the system is corrupt if they don’t get selected. If I’m not mistaken, the number of overseas scholarship per state is usually not more than 3 people.

@dotunodumosu @ruffydfire PTDF is purely based on merit ! And u are not the only applicant who has strong qualifications and had performed well. There might be more stronger candidates than you in ur state It’s that simple. Just to be clear: PTDF is one of the most competitive scholarships in the world

I spent about a week tailoring a 5 page proposal targeting German Universities. I have the minimum academic merit (a 2:1 and a merit in my MSc), O'level credits, the professional memberships and other required documents but PTDF invited select candidates for interview less than 6 weeks after we had submitted our applications. Here is my question: 'does PTDF read proposals and statements to shortlist applicants or it's just a formality?'. My experience from a couple of tested, trust and transparent scholarships attracting 5-10,000 applicants per round is that it takes about 3-5 months to effectively review such a volume of write ups before shortlisting can be made. How does PTDF shortlist?

The hypocrisy, especially among the Northerners, is the reason behind our current predicament. When President Muhammadu Buhari, a Northerner, was in power, in his first four years, we, his supporters, and well-wishers, provided excuses upon excuses. We urged people to give him the opportunity to prove himself worthy of leading us and restoring the country to its former glory, which we fondly referred to as the “Giant of Africa.” After eight complete years, there were only a few achievements to be attributed to him. However, security deteriorated under his watch, and the North was never truly secured again, even with someone from Katsina (Daura) as president. May his soul rest in Jannatul Firdausi. After extensive political consultations and introspection, I have chosen the path of success and determination. I have decided to contribute to the growth and prosperity of my country, aligning with the policies of President PBAT administration. For the very first time in history, our Nigeria, our economy, and our health system are experiencing stability. The threat posed by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been eliminated, and students are no longer subjected to strikes. In the past 15 years, security has never improved as it is today. Nigeria will prevail against all its enemies, and our troops and top coordinators will achieve success in defeating the nefarious elements within the country. Therefore, I have chosen to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Buhari’s administration. The All Democratic Congress (ADC) has never been an option for me, and it never will be. (A circle of frustrated and desperate old politicians who have ruined my country will not be able to brainwash me into changing parties.) President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continuity, Uba Sani’s four-year term, and the assurance of Abba Kabir Yusuf are my unwavering commitments.

That’s a significant step toward improving access to higher education. Supporting over 17,000 students with ₦1.3 billion in loans can make a real difference in reducing financial barriers and helping more young people stay focused on their studies. But who and who benefited from this?

Here’s what happened in the VIDEO: It was during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day parade in Kebbi state. Soldiers lined up to receive greetings from the Governor of the state, Nasir Idris. The Governor, led by the commanding General, took a tour of the military personnel on parade. Towards the end of the line are some disabled military personnel, in active service. They were victims of terrorist attacks. While some lost their hands, others’ legs were amputated. The General showed them to the Governor while detailing their plight and making a case that they needed help. The Governor, very casually, without a slight expression of remorse or sympathetic emotion, just said, “Just tell me the cost of the prosthesis,” and he moved on. These were men of the Armed Forces who lost major parts of their bodies in active service. The Governor could barely pause to show sympathy or interact with them to find out their needs. This captures the heart of the average Nigerian politician. They have terrible cold hearts!✍️

PRESS RELEASE NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE COMMENCES IMPLEMENTATION OF SAFE PASSAGE FOR PERSONAL VEHICLES UNDER TEMPORARY ADMISSION 1.The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announces the commencement of procedures for granting safe passage to personal vehicles temporarily imported or transiting through Nigeria by international travellers. The initiative is anchored on the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023, and relevant international conventions on temporary admission and transit of vehicles. 2.The new framework covers all personal, non-commercial vehicles belonging to international travellers visiting Nigeria for tourism, diplomatic, business, or personal purposes. It seeks to ease cross-border movement, strengthen Nigeria's compliance with international obligations, and reinforce the nation's commitment to trade facilitation and regional integration. 3.It is pertinent to note that this implementation draws legal backing from Sections 142, 143, 144, and 245 of the NCS Act, 2023, as well as the Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC), UN TIR Convention (1975), Istanbul Convention (1990), and the ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement of Persons, Residence, and Establishment. It also aligns with WCO Guidelines on Temporary Admission and the Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) regulations. 4.International travellers are required to present valid documents such as international passport, international driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance, and CPD at the point of entry. Upon satisfactory inspection and verification, a Temporary Vehicle Admission Permit valid for up to 90 days will be issued and electronically recorded. Travellers may apply for an extension of up to 30 days, subject to approval by the relevant Customs Area Controller. 5.Vehicles admitted under this regime are free to move within Nigeria but cannot be sold, leased, transferred, modified, or used for commercial purposes. At the point of exit, travellers should present the vehicle and the approved customs Temporary Admission Declaration. In the event of an accident, theft, or breakdown, the nearest Customs office should be notified immediately for documentation and guidance. 6. The NCS, therefore, reaffirms its commitment to transparency and accountability while facilitating legitimate travel. This initiative strengthens Nigeria's role in cross-border cooperation and ensures compliance with existing regulations to enhance security and efficiency. The BBC has confirmed that the number of Muslim travellers abducted by militias in Plateau State is 28, not 12 as was widely reported by some media outlets. We humbly call on the relevant security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to secure their immediate and safe release, apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.

It has been reported that a terrorist group otherwise called Plateau militia, stopped a convoy of Muslims traveling for their annual Maulud, kidnapped them and up till now holding them hostage. They are asking for millions in ransom.Same incidents happened in 2021 were 26 worshippers passing through the plateau were killed in cold blood. In June this year,13 Kaduna Muslim travellers were brutally murdered in Mangu,Plateau. The Jasawa Community Development Association JCDA just compiled a list of 4700 Muslim worshippers killed in Plateau state in 25 years. All these happened without a strong voice of condemnation and without justice.Strong action must be taken against such a heinous crime of violence against travellers because of their religious identity.Selective outrage questions our morality and faith and cast a doubt on our humanity.
