Ouch. There are what, a dozen, maybe fifteen countries in the world that have end-to-end integrated steel economies and meaningful steel exports? Decades of painstaking industrialization under severe sanctions, wiped out in a day.
Iran will definitely be a much poorer country when this is over, no matter the outcome. People who think that Iran is categorically opposed to a ceasefire should keep this in mind; this is nothing like, e.g. Russia/Ukraine, where only Kiev would benefit from a ceasefire.
A lot of people on here are imagining some apocalyptic war until the last drop of blood, but the Iranians have every incentive not to drag this out if there's a possible deal to be made.
Of course, destroying Iran's ability to function as an industrial economy is one of the main US/Israeli goals -- one step closer to becoming a non-entity like Syria is now.

Steel became Iran’s top non-oil export precisely as a sanction hedge as it is cheap to produce using local ore and natural gas, and a critical source of foreign currency when oil revenues were blocked. Hitting all three at once targets critical industrial capacity and the economic architecture Iran spent decades building to survive Western pressure.

The idea that every sovereign country near Israel must cap its conventional weapons, limit its defensive capabilities, restrict missile and fighter jet ranges, and even dismantle its own military industries—just so Israel can "feel safe"—is completely absurd.
