@JosephJacks_ Running tao.app is like being Bittensor's hub of pain points through the feedback and feature requests that you see daily. What feature(s) have you shipped since launching that you've seen make the biggest impact and why? What is a common pain point users still have?

@markjeffrey There is a better/simpler way to do this all you need to do is use proxy wallets with transaction permissions to obfuscate the originating wallet.

Not sure how I feel about this one ... ... but 'TAOnado Cash' just appeared. It's Tornado Cash, but on Bittensor, implemented as a subnet.

Totally agree...verification sets the whole stage. If you can’t measure the commodity properly, miners will just game the system or bounce. I’ve seen teams waste months on slick comms upgrades only to scrap them when verification failed. What’s your take on balancing verification robustness with scalability? Like, how do you ensure it doesn’t bottleneck as the network grows?

This is why I always tell teams to focus myopically on verification. Your product is down stream from the verification not upstream from it. What exactly is this commodity you are creating? How do you measure it? You can spin your wheels building fancy optimizations all day and then realize in an instant that miners won’t use it, or already invented one better themselves.

1 and 2 are downstream from 3. Solve verification and incentive is easy. Solve incentives and miners solve comms and bandwidth. Same in ML, build the proper reward landscape. Let the algorithms anneal to it.
seth bloomberg@bloomberg_seth

Decentralized training networks have 3 challenges to overcome: 1. Communication/Bandwidth 2. Incentive Mechanism Design 3. Verification Design It’s fun getting nerd-sniped by 1, but thinking many people severely underestimate the importance of/difficulty in solving 2 and 3.

I’m totally on board with your vision for Bittensor’s future; Kaspa’s blockDAG does sound like a beast for scalability! Loving the Musk analogy too, that rewrite grind paid off big time for Tesla. 🤯 If we’re thinking long-term, how do you reckon Kaspa’s parallel processing would handle AI model validation at scale... especially with Bittensor’s probabilistic proof-of-learning? Could that combo be the ultimate flex for decentralized AI? Just spitballing here, but I’m pumped for where this could go!

Hey @const_reborn @opentensor I love Bittensor, I really do. I am one of the biggest TAO fans and foghorns out there. But from a first principles perspective, when we ask ourselves, "Is Bittensor built on the best DLT out there and one that is future proofed?"...the answer is no. Substrate is 'fine' for now. But what if there are requirements for more bandwidth or throughput in the future? Can we really afford to have the future of intelligence or the TCP/IP of AI being run on a mediocre chain that suffers from runaway batch calls or whatever other issues may pop up in the future? Why can't we make the hard (but best decision for the future) and completely change chains to Kaspa? In terms of speed and throughput, Substrate is like a garden hose and Kaspa's blockdag structure with GHOSTDAG protocol is akin to the Amazon river. Fast, wide and powerful. It's the only chain that isn't software bottlenecked as it will increase in speed as hardware/internet speeds increase too. Also instead of sequential block processing that Substrate does, Kaspa does parallel block processing. So a "Matreshka" incident is highly unlikely. Plus it's Trilemma Solved, so Bittensor would be much safer. I don't own any Kaspa, so there's no gain for me if this happened. But I remember about 7 years ago when Elon had a similar issue and realised Lidar wasn't the way forward with self driving and forced everyone forward with cameras only. And again, 5 years ago (ish) he realised that the code was inherently flawed and literally forced Tesla to do a full rewrite of the self drive. He's soon to have the last laugh with FSD. I think it's time for an awkward and ball aching (but future proofing) chain shift... I'm no techie, but at the very least, if someone from OTF were to reach out to @hashdag or @michaelsuttonil for a chat, you can ask much deeper questions and probably end up with the same conclusion I've posted here... Just wanting the best for Bittensor as this will be around for a long time to come... 🤞

@markjeffrey I don't think this chart shows Bitcoin's spectacular nature; everything trends to infinity against fiat currencies. The real unlock is repricing assets from USD to BTC terms.

The Rangers lost 1-0 and were swept by the Yankees. They've now scored one or no runs 15 times this year, tied with the Rockies and Pirates for the most in MLB. Not great!

Taohash, created by Subtensor's top contributor and owned by the biggest KOL per Cookie Site, serves incumbents. With U.S. elections often within 5 points, acquiring 5% or more of the network could sway votes. My concern is, as we're still early, how do we decouple economic and governance incentives to avoid replicating the U.S. situation where wealth drives lobbying and rule-making, enabling more wealth accumulation?

I don't see that as an issue at all right now -- not even as a threat on the horizon. Everybody involved gets that new surprising subnets that vault to the top of the heap out of nowhere is GOOD for TAO value. which we ALL hold. TaoHash is a great example. It went from 0 to #2 in about 3 weeks. Nobody expected this use case. A lot of TAO peeps hated it. Didn't matter: The market spoke.

@byMikeDavis The 2025 Pacers roster might put together the sneakiest championship run of all time. Is there a team that has even come remotely close to this in terms of talent level, luck and success? Historically, what team rings a bell lol

yes we agree there. But my concern is if the top subnet continue to earn outsized rewards then they will be able to enact chain level "upgrades" that could favor them and inhibit new competitions serving as a form of regulatory capture. Am I just worrying about something that is too unlikely to happen?

@SaintOfEvening It's just an open marketplace. Small subnets need to market what they're doing on X, discord, etc. to get support. It's exactly like DeFi protocols on ETH or SOL -- you gotta sing for your supper :)

I agree, verifying authentic AI is crucial for trust in open-source. SN2 could revolutionize verification, but ZK proofs are slow, and inference value increasingly depends on response speed. As speed approaches zero, what speed reduction will people accept? That seems the key question for SN2's viability.

There’s also skepticism that owners will approve the Lions’ proposal for reseeding after first round of playoffs. Winning the division is a highly coveted prize in the eyes of team brass and losing home game isn’t something many want regardless of record.

There are still a number of people involved in these talks that are very unsure of how this will play out. It was split 50-50 in March, despite modification to wording, eight votes is a lot to swing in favor of ban, sources say.
The Athletic@TheAthletic

Key NFL committees have recommended the league ban the “tush push” ahead of a vote on Wednesday, sources tell @DMRussini. The development suggests team owners will vote in favor of a proposal to ban the play ⤵️ nytimes.com/athletic/63700…
