Privacy coins solved one problem really well hiding transactions.
They proved that financial privacy matters. But they also stopped there.
FHE rollups take a different path. Instead of just hiding who sent what to whom, they encrypt the entire computation layer. Not only balances and transfers, but logic, state, strategies, and application behavior itself.
With privacy coins, the chain can’t really host complex apps. Smart contracts are limited, composability is weak, and everything lives in a closed ecosystem. Privacy exists, but utility stays narrow.
FHE rollups flip that tradeoff. You get full programmability DeFi, governance, AI agents, games while data remains encrypted end to end. Validators execute the logic, but never see the inputs. The chain stays verifiable, composable, and expressive, without exposing users.
