The frustration is real. Unemployment is real. The pressure on housing, on schools, on hospitals - it is real. South Africans are struggling, but xenophobia and violence are not the answer. #AfricaDay#UbuntuNotXenophobia
@Dantorish1M@JaphethOtieno01 What experience did Michuki have? Or Murungaru, Saitoti, Sunkuli, Moi himself, Murumbi, Oginga have when they handled the job?
@JaphethOtieno01 It's true, the position of interior CS requires a person who is experienced. Why didn't Ruto appoint Monica Juma to the position, or is it because she is a Mkamba?
Murkomen is inexperienced for such a huge position
If you have listened keenly to Rigathi Gachagua, you will just know something was not good or was about to happen to President William Ruto. He could not just come out and say what he said just after the presidential security was changed.
He said, “It is very reckless and irresponsible for the government to play with the security of President Ruto. If anything was to happen to President William Ruto, I, Rigathi Gachagua, do not want political instability in this country. We want Ruto to be alive, safe, and well. We want the opportunity to humiliate him at the ballot.”
He went on and called CS Kipchumba Murkomen naive, childisd and juvenile. He said Murkomen is excited about the position he holds and that he parties all the time. Waziri wa sheree. Security chiefs personnel can not reach him. If they reach him, he can not comprehend matters of security.....
@AgainstKenyans@OkiyaOmtatah@harrietopoma Project principles are the same no matter the project. Since she has no experience she hasn't handled any projects. Unasumbua dada. Either take her or leave her. She'll specialize huko mbele.
This letter from @HarrietOpoma broke my heart.
Here is a young Kenyan who went to school, worked hard, graduated with a degree, and has spent 10 years trying to find a breakthrough without success. Behind many smiles you see out here, there are painful private battles people rarely talk about.
Many young people are exhausted, not because they are lazy, but because opportunities have become so difficult to access.
I am sharing Harriet’s letter with hope that someone somewhere may help open a door for her.
If you know of a genuine opportunity that may help Harriet, kindly reach out.
Sometimes all someone needs is one chance.
May God remember and uplift every young Kenyan still trying despite the disappointments and closed doors.
President William Ruto has directed the government to buy idle land in the Coast region within 90 days and redistribute it to squatters.
The move will cover areas in Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, and Taita Taveta.
@moneyacademyKE "Every idle land is owned by a person a firm or an individual. There is no land without an owner"
Kenya does not have laws that support nationalization of land.
So, hiyo ni siasa ya pesa nane...
Nko stressed. My current salary is Ksh 32k, My male boss is hiring a manager ,but he as asked me whether am interested. The salary will be raised to Ksh 95kBut he's insisted that lazima tulale ndio nipate hiyo promotion,I am married with 1 kid. Sijui nimeshindwa what to do.
@moneyacademyKE Amazing. You decommission thermal plants then enter into contracts with new ones. Your guess on what's at play is as good as mine. Meanwhile all we need to evacuate very cheap power from GERD is to construct a power line.
Kenya plans to bring in floating power plants at the Coast as a temporary measure to help meet rising electricity demand and avoid blackouts.
The plants are expected to generate between 200MW and 400MW.
@patmu7@VictorNyakund10 There used to be a BMW mechanic pale Jogoo Road opposite the Makadara Railway station. Rumour had it that he was the best BMW mech in East and Central Africa. The place was always full of BMWs.
@VictorNyakund10 A friend of mine made me fear BMWs
Describes how it stalled on the road and local mechanics couldn't fix it.
He returned to his premio.
Didn't even try to resell
Kept it as an example of bad decisions
I was 23 yrs old
I bought a 2003 BMW 320i for 580K because I wanted the logo, not the logic. 😂
Everyone advised me to buy a 2005 Toyota Corolla NZE that was reliable, cheap to maintain, and would probably still be serving me faithfully to date. But no, young and financially unserious me chose “German engineering” with Kenyan budget maintenance. The car spent more time at the garage than on the road.
Eventually I dumped it after endless breakdowns. It was a junk
One of the biggest financial lessons I learnt early:
A luxury badge on a depreciating liability can become an expensive affair.Sometimes the smartest financial move is choosing reliability over hype.
@tutor_shadrach@jimNjue_ You're not overthinking. It's a classic terrorist modus operandi. Remember the 1998 US Embassy bombing. Small blast to draw in the crowds then the mother ya kumalo.
Anyone who has ever attended a Presidential Function knows how far the dias usually is from the congregation. There is simply no way anyone can run all the way to the dias and grab the president without being tackled or shot instantly. This Kilifi incident was another badly written script. But let’s wait for Riggy G to talk he will tell us everything.
Out of the proposed KSH 4.8 trillion budget for FY 2026-2027, debt service will be KSH 2.3 trillion.
47% of the entire budget is debt service.
47% of the budget will not solve any problem in Kenya.
Will not create jobs. Will not build hospitals. Will not fund cancer research. Will not send a kid to school.
For this country is we are told is on its way to becoming Singapore.
Shida yetu ni hii:
Tunatabia za nguruwe, na tunataka kuwa na mwili wa nyoka.
We continue spending 40-50% more each year than we make.
And worse - it is not so that we can serve people.
We are borrowing to fund corruption and state largesse.
When close to 50% of the entire budget is not creating 1 job - what the heck is our country all about?
Make no mistake about it- our national interest is the service of the absolutely corrupt ruling class.
@KaberiaCommoner I have one who always tells me nisilipe Kwa till nimuwekee direct. Butchery sio yake so he prefers to have some running float then akatwe short end month. I understand him as a man.
I went to a certain Supermarket to buy chicken. Jamaa ya butchery ikanikatia kuku ya 500, akajifanya anaandika receipt kumbe ni number yake ameandika. Then akanisho nikifika nimuekee pesa yenye nataka. When I reached home, I felt very guilty. Called him and told him I don't engage in such behavior. He was very worried and scared to lose his job. He apologized and promised not to try it again. I sent him 500.
Unapigia mtu simu inasema the number is nolonger in service, you double check the number and call again, this time inaingia but after 3 beeps inakuambia iko mteja, after trying the third time iko off. Finally una give up, then after some hours the person you tried calling calls you back akiuliza, "did you call me?... I found a missed call, I didn't hear my phone ringing". Surely Safaricom what's happening nowadays?
Do KFS/KWS rangers patrol Karura after dark to rescue people who might not have made it out before dark? I was still in the forest at 7pm & its a miracle I found my way out😭😭😭
