Talarico called Crockett and asked her to make the keynote at the convention two weeks ago. She didn’t return the call. As someone who lost badly and then endorsed the eventual also progressive winner, I wish her well in sorting through her feelings. And I would say that her endorsing and transforming her rage into closure too will make her personally feel better too.

I do believe at this moment that the @jamestalarico campaign is missing the mark.
If Rep. @JasmineForUS says she’s focused on down-ballot candidates and voter engagement, why would anyone try to elevate that to the press as if it’s some kind of rejection? Does his campaign not understand basic electoral math?
Turning people out to vote is the hardest part of politics. Period.
If Jasmine is helping energize new voters, increasing participation, and supporting candidates who can win in November, she is helping build an electorate that will also vote in the Senate race. Those voters don’t disappear when they finish voting for school board, city council, or state representative. They keep going down the ballot.
Her driving turnout may ultimately be more valuable to James Talarico than standing on a stage, raising his hand, and giving him an endorsement photo-op.
The campaign’s job is simple: make sure those voters know who James Talarico is and why they should vote for him once they’re at the ballot box.
Let’s focus on math, because I think some of y’all failed that in school.
