@PendleFox_ @Channel4News Everyone jealous of Fulford for inheriting all that land would do well to remember that he had to inherit that grotesquely ugly face and ghastly personality too.

In England, where over 90% of land is privately owned, the “right to roam” debate is intensifying. “Why don’t you want to pay?” asks landowner Francis Fulford. “We just want easier access to nature,” says campaigner Guy Shrubsole. Can common ground be found? We brought them together to find out.

That an oil producing nation of 5M people”is a failed state”is the best and most persuasive argument for independence that anyone could make. The fact that he thinks Daisley is “always insightful” is just hilarious.
Andrew Neil@afneil

From the always insightful Stephen Daisley, this tells you more about the sad state of the country than a thousand pieces of Westminster analysis. Scotland is already a lost cause. But the rest of the country is heading in the same direction. spectator.com/article/malcol…

@tirnaog_09 @1969_Just_Joe When I started working (1975) in Kinning Park,we would frequent 3 bars where the owners, all Scottish football legends, Alex Ferguson(Fergies) Jim Baxter (Baxter’s) and Jock Stein (The Lord Darnley)would regularly be behind the bar serving pints. Changed days..

@1969_Just_Joe One of life's ironies that some pretty average modern players can retire and never need to work again while some greats of the past worked in bars or building sites.

Jimmy Johnstone and his wife Agnes in their early days together. Players then often lived in the communities they were brought up in and weren't paid the relative fortunes top stars earn today. What a player the wee guy was though.

@ryanmullen_01 Ryan, it must have been very possibly the worst experience of your career. Shit happens, I hope your recovery is mental as well as physical and is as soon as possible. You will get a great reception from the fans 👍🏁🏁🏁

1. To have a moment like that on Sunday was devastating. A mistake coupled up with blowing out my quad, wasn’t what I pictured the biggest opportunity so far in my career to go like.

@JohannLamont It saddens me that decent and intelligent people like you are so anti Indy. Surely you have enough life experience to have realised that we could do so much better than this?

@ginadavidsonlbc @overlandertheb1 I think the root of the problem is that Joe Public now has zero trust in the integrity (or lack of it) or the judgement (or complete lack of it) of political parties (all of them btw) and how they pick their candidates. We want serious people, not unqualified lackies.

@overlandertheb1 The overall impression - on here - is that folk hate PR of any kind as it generally leads to coalition/partnerships and rather than accept that as a normal outcome, the idea of working with political opponents is beyond the pale.

The contempt on here for the political system in Scotland is remarkable - especially the idea that regional list MSPs are somehow not legitimate and folk “sneak in” to Holyrood this way.

The St Mirren fans slating Ryan Mullen should be ashamed of themselves. He gave this very honest interview just after the game. Disgusting the way he’s been treated. Hold your head up high, Ryan.

@LBC @briancubby @StephenFlynnSNP Stephen Flynn is not ‘ the people of Scotland’ SNP are 35 percent of the vote so they are NOT the people of Scotland either . The people of Scotland would be off their trollies to vote for SNP with their track record and independence would be an economic disaster 😡

@SalesBud @roymchardy @msm_monitor @brawday Once we have Indy we'll have Scottish parties only, there will be a few (perhaps new), so whatever the SNP wish to call themselves is irrelevant really. We'll have a choice. The SNP is our vehicle to get there. I shall continue to vote for them unless they dramatically change

Well done to Archie on the phone-in who had Sarwar squirming all over the place with a very simple question on how to leave the Union. Connie McLaughlin almost spoils it with nebulous meandering, but she eventually brings it back and exposes Sarwar's evasiveness. This is how to press Sarwar. Ask a simple question and repeat it several times.

@roymchardy @msm_monitor @brawday I doubt they would be fashioned as a Republican Party(don’t scare the horses) but yes I think it would mean the end of the SNP as we know it and a left leaning party pro EU party would emerge with possibly some ex Labour Party politicians.

@roymchardy @msm_monitor @brawday I guess it would be similar politically to an independent Denmark, Norway, Iceland or any other normal democratic European nation in that the people who live there decide its future.

@PremSportsTV @sbk Fair play to Tony, obviously a very highly thought of coach and still has managerial ambitions and good luck to him in that. However, after the last 2 games most of us are absolutely delighted with Craig and his coaching team and excited about the rest of the season.
