“Once destroyed, nature's beauty cannot be repurchased at any price.” Shame on politicians (often to fulfil agendas of their corporate donors) who wilfully destroy the beauty of the countryside & coastal environments with solar panels & wind turbines. Vandalism against nature.

A short history of the great British improvement. They came for beef dripping. We got margarine, then seed oils, then a cardiac ward in every hospital. They came for butter. They told your grandmother it would kill her husband. The replacement was a tub of palm oil emulsified with rapeseed and a yellow dye, and her husband died of a heart attack in 1989 anyway. They came for full-fat milk. We got skimmed milk, a vitamin D deficiency epidemic in children, and a cereal aisle fortified to plug the gap. They came for mutton, the meat that fed every shepherd, miner, and mill worker for six hundred years. We got a chicken breast injected with water and a turkey twizzler. They came for the kipper. We got a Findus boil-in-the-bag, dyed orange, and a fish oil capsule sold at the chemist to make up for the omega-3 nobody is eating. They came for wool. We got polyester fleece, and microplastics in human placentas. Every one tested. Sixty-two out of sixty-two. They came for leather. We got synthetic shoes that delaminate in eighteen months, and a high street with no cobbler. They came for the cotton nappy. We got the disposable, and a landfill that will outlast the child wearing it. They came for the cast iron pan handed down three generations. We got Teflon, and a forever chemical now found in 98% of British rivers. They came for the wooden bowl your grandmother kneaded dough in. We got Tupperware, then BPA, then "BPA-free" plastic containing compounds we have not yet bothered to measure. Now they are coming for the cow herself. The replacement is a textured pea isolate, extruded in a factory in the American Midwest, packaged in plastic, and marketed as the ethical option by a company called Cargill, who happen to be the third-largest meat processor in the United States. Every traditional material we have been told to give up was working perfectly, for free, for centuries. Every industrial replacement has been worse for the body, worse for the land, and considerably better for the shareholders of the company that sold it. The pattern is not subtle, and the people running it are not embarrassed. Your great-grandmother is no longer here to call it. You are.

No sympathy for Keir Starmer’s predicament. Over 7,000 farming, forestry and fishing businesses closed in the first year after Labour came into power. His policies have wrecked lives in rural communities and businesses. Sympathy to them but absolutely not for him.

#50sWomen Imagine working 43 years to be told No you can’t have your pension for another 6 years. Yet if your the 2nd/3rd wife in a polygamous marriage (supposedly illegal) in the UK your benefit is increased in line with annual benefit rise! Questions need to be asked @GBnews

So true, @RosieP4. A government serious about increasing social housing stock in the right places for the most deserving in society, would have started first and formost with a national survey of empty and derelict housing. Targeting financial and building resources where they’d achieve most good. But no: instead they bend to narrow, short-termist, greed-driven developer goals and head for green field sites. I have always maintained they do this as a political tool and out of score-settling spite. The aftermath of it all is a moonscape of environmental damage, the sheer extent of which we will still be counting and regretting decades from now? I do hope we reach a point where those responsible for the carnage will be held to account, and sooner rather than later.

Husbands with second, third and even fourth wives living in the UK have had their benefits allowance increased by the Department for Work and Pensions. Polygamy is illegal in the UK they should have their benefits stopped, not increased. We shouldn’t be paying for this

“Let me be clear…I broke numerous promises. I invented a £22 billion black hole to punish pensioners, farmers, the disabled, small businesses and students. I tried to give away Chagos and pay £35 billion to do so. I increased unemployment. I increased the government deficit. I appointed Peter Mandelson despite his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein having already been published in various media outlets. I promised to cut energy bills and council tax, but instead, the opposite happened. I did absolutely nothing to resolve the cost of living crisis and made it worse by increasing the tax burden to record levels. I prioritised hanging out with the Davos / BlackRock clique rather than genuinely ‘fixing the foundations’. I promised a ‘transparency revolution’, but instead, operated under smoke and mirrors and sacked colleagues and threatened suspending Labour MPs who voted against me. I spaffed £30 billion away on carbon capture machines. I failed to sort out the small boats / hotels for illegal immigrants. £3 billion a year to Ukraine and big hugs from Volodymyr. I smeared anyone who dared to criticise me a ‘far-right’. I sanctimoniously lectured everyone like they were naughty children. And I have absolutely no intention of resigning after disastrous local election results because I am right and everyone else is wrong. Me first. Country second.”

Young East German girls were given testosterone (to win races) on much lower doses than those prescribed for this 👇🏼ALL became very sick, many died prematurely very young. We don’t need more experiments. Shame on anyone promoting giving cross sex hormones to children (or anyone).

This is pretty rich coming from someone who has pointedly failed to “get on and deliver” the EHRC guidance on single sex spaces because it was politically expedient for her to do precisely nothing.

This is completely mad. Britain has no history of polygamy. It's been illegal to enter into a polygamous marriage in England since 1604. When people come to this country, they should abide by our norms. Allowing them not to and then giving them taxpayer money for it is mental.

A student from India who does not hold British citizenship and is here on a temporary visa has just been elected to the Scottish parliament to serve a four-year term (salary £80,000 per year). How in God’s name can something like this be allowed to happen? Our democracy is sick.

Campaigners are racing to save the mother tree of the Bramley apple – a 220-year-old tree in Nottinghamshire that traces every Bramley apple in the world back to a single pip. Planted in the 19th century, it’s still fruiting today, but now faces an uncertain future as its cottage goes up for sale. Supporters want to buy the site and turn it into a heritage centre, preserving a living piece of Britain’s culinary history for the nation. #Apple #Heritage #Trees #Environment #FoodHistory #Conservation theguardian.com/culture/2026/m…

Belgian police chief demands naval blockade to stop small boats reaching UK Christiaan De Ridder, Deputy Chief of West Flanders Police, has called for a naval barrier to prevent migrant dinghies launching from Belgian beaches and crossing the Channel. He says smugglers have shifted operations to Belgium to avoid tougher French patrols, with around 30 small boat departures already recorded this year. Belgian authorities have arrested 40 suspected people-smugglers and over 360 migrants since January. De Ridder wants the blockade to stop boats before they reach French waters and are often escorted into British jurisdiction. Total small boat crossings to the UK have now passed 200,000 since records began in 2018. You know how bad this is when Belgium takes pity on us and our own politicians don't give a toss

Gary MacArthur gave 15 years of his life to Sainsbury’s in West Wickham, south-east London. He wasn’t some troublemaker. He was the worker who stayed late to make female colleagues feel safer. The worker who performed CPR on the store’s only security guard after he suffered a suspected stroke. The worker who had already previously LOST TEETH after being punched by a thief while trying to protect the store. But after tackling an allegedly aggressive repeat offender known for targeting the branch and stealing bottles of Moët, Bollinger and Veuve Clicquot Sainsbury’s sacked him for gross misconduct. This was after colleagues screamed there was an “aggressive Champagne thief” in the store. According to reports, the shoplifter later smashed bottles and hurled them at staff. Yet Gary MacArthur a man who dedicated 15 years of loyalty, protected colleagues and even helped save a life that same day — was told he should have acted only as a “visual deterrent.” Absolutely disgusting. Supermarket workers are being punched, threatened, abused and terrorised by repeat shoplifters on a daily basis… yet the staff who actually step in to protect colleagues and customers are the ones losing their jobs. Gary MacArthur at Sainsbury’s. Walker Smith at Waitrose. Sean Egan at Morrisons. Gavin Ramsay at Asda. Decades of loyalty thrown away because they refused to stand by while thieves ran riot. What kind of country are we becoming where the people trying to protect others lose everything… while the criminals walk straight back out onto the streets?
