This is not so much haves and have-nots but dids and did-nots. The AI train is leaving the station and the 98% of even the developed world who spent the last 50 years fiddling around with redistributing other people's wealth now want to rewrite the fundamentals of private property rights. According to them, AI doesn't belong to the teams who spent their entire lives inventing something new, it belongs to everyone equally on the basis of some very ad hoc rationalization. You may as well say that aluminum in United's fleet doesn't belong to United, it belongs to Australians because it was dug out of the ground there. There is no limit to the shameless self justification of these brazen attempts to appropriate the fruit of other people's labor, indifferent to the insane moral hazard created by using the power of the state to break wealth generation incentives forever. How about: if you want AI wealth, build AI products that people love.
