@naval What's funny is China is gradually beating us at AI and they just outlawed firing people as a way to cut costs by replacing them with AI Food for thought

If you're still calling getTransactionsForAddress to backfill historical @solana data, there's a much better way. Old Faithful archives the full ledger. @anza_xyz's Jetstreamer pulls from it and replays blocks, transactions, rewards, and entries directly into your Geyser plugin at up to 2.7M TPS. No RPC polling. No per-call billing. @triton_one hosts the archives as a public good, free to use. Implement the Plugin trait, point JetstreamerRunner at the archive, the blog has the full snippet so you can see what it looks like in code.

I actually find it crazy that all of Solana’s competitors are choosing to list their tokens on Solana. We are literally becoming the main crypto exchange layer where you can trade anything, anywhere, at any time. I’m not gonna complain because this is mega fkn bullish for Solana lmaoo but tbh it’s also very risky for all these other chains coming here. If your chain’s native token has to be traded on Solana because it’s clearly the superior trading environment, you’re basically turning your token into a Solana native speculative asset (or a memecoin in some cases lol). At that point, you’re not even competing with Solana. You’re all orbiting it. Look at what happened when Monad came to Solana. MON volume on Solana was literally higher than on Monad itself. That tells you everything. Obviously, these are smart teams. They run the numbers. They weigh the pros and cons. The math must make sense, even if the strategic risk is real. We’re entering a new phase where being a token and not being tradable on Solana is becoming a bigger risk than the risk of coming to Solana. Liquidity flows to the best rails. Smart traders go where execution is fastest and where markets are deepest. Right now, that place is Solana. Everyone and everything will eventually plug into the rails of the most efficient market. If you’re not tradable on Solana, you’re voluntarily limiting your own reach. The new default for any serious asset is simple: You are either on Solana, or you get ignored.

@ebarenholtz The way a lot of the the phenomenological literature treats this is for example happiness is intrinsically linked with the physical experiences that coincide with it, so like smiling + dilated pupils + etc .... so they would say you lose something

Are there any non-sensory based qualia? Some argue that there is a “feeling” of understanding or excitement or transcendence that is not based in the senses. But consider this: can you conceptualize those feelings while stripping away all of the senses? Blind, deaf, no bodily sensation at all; what is left? Can you still “feel” understanding or cosmic unity as isolated phenomena? Whatever LLMs might feel, it would have to be of this senseless variety. I would argue it is inconceivable.

A new report on Solana’s quantum readiness is here, from @anza_xyz and @jump_firedancer. TLDR: Quantum is still years away, and if and when it materializes, the work to migrate Solana is well-researched, understood, and ready to deploy as described below.

@toly @MostlyData_ @MaxResnick Very true. An under appreciated fact is it's not the actual PQC that is dangerous, it's the market impact of PQCs being almost ready, even if it's under five hundred million dollar lab conditions that take 6 months to do one key, the FUD is what will drive the market to zero

@MostlyData_ @MaxResnick If we migrate to pqc, that gives us the right to FUD everyone who hasn’t yet, and that’s the real benefit of pqc.

If physical error rates continue to decline on trend for rubidium based neutral atoms architecture, a quantum computer capable of breaking Ed25519 signatures could be ready is as little as 5 years on the most aggressive timeline. Q day is most likely still 10-15 years away but there is a chance it could come sooner. Read more about how we plan to secure the Solana protocol against a powerful quantum adversary in our new blog w/ @samkimcrypto. Work has already begun on some of the preliminary aspects of transition like increasing transaction sizes and adding a FALCON verification system call. This blog post goes into the other aspects of the protocol that need to be upgraded as well as migration strategies.
