Remember that Thomas Tuchel thinks Djed Spence and Noni Madueke are in England's best Starting XI. He also thinks that Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Maguire and Morgan Gibbs-White are not even good enough to be in England's third best team.

A right hand side of Noni Madueke and Jed Spence would struggle to win the FA Vase never mind the World Cup.

🚨 Newcastle thought they had a deal in place for Victor Muñoz — before a late Liverpool hijack.  ✔️ 💰 Newcastle had a fee of £29m (+£4.3m) ACCEPTED by Osasuna and the player had AGREED personal terms and told #NUFC he wanted to sign. Agent fees were also agreed. 👨🏻‍⚕️ Newcastle had the wheels in motion for a medical over in the US and were on the verge of completing a deal. 😐 But they were instructed to wait over the last 24 hours by the player's representatives, and #LFC swooped. 🔴 Liverpool had always been at the table for Muñoz so they didn't come in last minute, but agreed £34.5m release clause (two instalments) and Muñoz chose Anfield. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Newcastle now trying to get to the bottom of what happened in the last 24 hours, but there was always top competition for the winger last few weeks.

I’ve been saying for a while that Newcastle’s first choice goalkeeper target this summer would be James Trafford. But there is a lot to work through. He spent a long time last summer telling people he was signing for #nufc and it didn’t happen as Man City swooped in. Naturally there has to be caution. It is my understanding he has made positive noises again about wanting to play for Newcastle again recently. But it’s a difficult deal and will be expensive in terms of both fee and wages. I think he would be a great signing. So do Newcastle’s recruitment team but it’s a tricky one to pull off. Let’s see what happens.
