@stephenj_colvin The EU is currently in the process of absolutely obliterating the advantage it had in innovation and market access speed for medical devices, all whilst forcing thousands of devices off the market as they're too expensive to certify. Many companies (mine inc) go UK & USA first

The global rules theory. The fact of the matter is that the EU makes regulations that go far beyond WTO / codex / ILO etc. And in some areas the EU set regulations where there isn't any standards set at a global level. It's guff.

@Sam49625050 Oh my God! The orders Simmonds and Slade have are insane. Totally against what they do. Slade is finally getting to be more silky. Finally. And it works! And Isiekwe should be a natural, but no. What did he do wrong? 'What did he do wrong?' is the epitaph of this cycle.

@IrreverentErik @yuanyi_z Ok, so put aside housing (on which you are wrong). Ox Cam, reservoirs, labs, motorways. NIMBYs rule this country

Just when you think the UK's legal framework for growth literally could literally not be worse, Gordon Brown comes up with a report which will make doing anything about it constitutionally impossible.

@TheLondonSmoke Better than being picked and being used as a crash ball option (Simmonds, Slade) or picked and not backed (Isiekwe), or picked when they shouldn't have been picked (all Bath players apart from Underhill, though he shouldn't be picked until his technique is better)

@Sam49625050 I think on his carrying, passing, high ball and defence he's a bit more rounded. Maybe not quite as quick but near enough. He's the sort of player if you were designing a centre in a lab. Does everything superbly. And so Wasted. Jones should go for him not waiting to be picked.

@TheLondonSmoke Not sure about most complete, certainly the most freakishly talented since perhaps Wade. Ibitoye could have been. But yeh, horrendous mismanagement

Whatever they're paying him it won't be enough, he's probably the most complete English player of the last 3-4 years. And now I'm going to go cry.

@SimonCrick1 @Jbeardmore It's so bad. The fact that it can't cope with billing is bad enough, but it doesn't work at all on mobile

@Jbeardmore At least we wouldn’t have to contend with GMS. Awful website & labour intensive.

@Telegraph Where were the political opposition or media voices warning that this would be a calamity in the long term? They were all too busy hiding behind the sofa, or calling people who did speak out "granny killers". Shame on them.

@DevanSinha @niall_gooch Can we send the NIMBYs to France? (Probably not, we might not have many people left)

@niall_gooch Meanwhile, in metropolitan France with its slightly smaller population than UK, Macron continues to build 2x the No of houses per year and just embarked on actual levelling up with his multi-billion euro, decade-long plan for commuter rail in regional cities.

The US is NOT going into recession, while Europe is. Best way to see this is to look at services PMIs (red), which are holding up well in the US (lhs), but are falling sharply along with the manufacturing PMI in Germany (rhs). Markets have recession risk all wrong...

@thomasforth @tdubey Surely pushing powers down to a local or regional level will make the NIMBYs even more powerful?

I'm enjoying following the YIMBY Tories who both hate Labour's proposed constitutional reforms and hate that their party does not want to build any homes. A cycle of introspective despair.

@yimbychris And the Brown review proposed to make the issue worse by pushing the powers down the chain, closer to the NIMBYs. Were screwed either way
