@RobelYeshitla Who even cares what Ethiopia recognise? They can't even recognise thier own internal problems and issues and that Thier literacy rate is the worst in the region due to conflicts and wars they have. Sad individuals like you are the problem

Somaliland (May 17) and Eritrea (May 24) are set to commemorate Independence Day. It’s time for Ethiopian government to recognize Somaliland and de-recognize Eritrea. End Ethiopia’s Cold War strategic containment.

@Habtishgreat Buy more weapons for internal wars and with neighbours. Drone strike your own cities and villages. Yet your literacy rate is the worst In the region while being the biggest aid recipient country and full of NGOS. What a shame and a disaster.

I feel Sorry For Eritrea 🇪🇷🇪🇷 This is a serious emotional damage to Isaias Afwerki. Hgdef mouthpieces were ecstatic, rushing to celebrate the news that USA was lifting sanctions on Eritrea. Some even declared Eritrea the most influential country in Africa and claimed the US had abandoned Ethiopia in favor of Asmara. While the United States is toying with Eritrean expectations for lift sanctions, it has quietly lifted its military embargo on Ethiopia. Oh boy… the actual announcement lifting the military embargo on Ethiopia lands like a hard slap across Isaias Afwerki’s face. 😂😂😂😂😂

U.S. Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs
Today, we were honored to have productive and wide-ranging meetings with the Ethiopian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos @GHessebon , for the U.S. Ethiopia Bilateral Structured Dialogue. We had constructive conversations about the Nile River and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. We also discussed international efforts to facilitate a humanitarian truce and achieve durable peace in Sudan, as well as our shared commitment to promoting regional stability, including Red Sea maritime security. Today was also an important opportunity for discussions on bilateral economic and commercial issues, including promoting U.S. investments.

@KassaEliass @US_SrAdvisorAF @GHessebon If Assab was closed by Italy and you keep claiming Ethiopia was never colonised, how does that make sense? Why did you keep using port Djibouti since 1890s and have railways instead of Assab which you only started using after ilegal annexation of Eritrea in 1961?

@US_SrAdvisorAF @GHessebon We only take what is ours- Assab. We do not need Eritrea. Eritrea is for Eritreans. Assab was, is and will be Ethiopian no matter what! That is a final nail to the coffin

@martinplaut At least Asab must belong to Ethiopia, though it was taken by Eritrea forcefuly. And the Afar people must not be divided between the two nations. If i were Abiy i would cross the 50 km distance with tank to annex Asseb to its biological mother, Ethiopia.

@martinplaut This is false. Ethiopia became landlocked because TPLF failed to secure Asab which is part of Afar Ethiopia before recognizing Eritrea as independent country.

@martinplaut lol ; the people of Afar weren’t consulted and rather split in two countries because two Tigre tribes wanted that way supported by the west . Why a lie and parasitic system? Good thing the world order won’t stay static

@ThankYouSir143 @martinplaut 🤣🤣 it doesn't matter. Through victory and referendum Eritrean peoples voices were heard after 30 year war. Your stupid emperor didn't have no right to annex and change languages in Eritrea. Greed and stupidity as always with your leaders . Who cares what you think in Addis

@martinplaut It’s the TPLF who handed over Asab port and recognised Shabia as a country NOT Ethiopians.

@martinplaut The port was given to Eritrea by the late halfbaked Eritrean PM zenawi and some tplf ellites. Most of the people of Ethiopia was not a part if the process and the decission. This generation is asking boldly.

@ralpfrsmith @martinplaut They got defeated, thier navy surrendered after Operation Fenkil, the AU, US, EU UN ETC all recognised Eritrea after a fair referendum and military victory. Yes Ethiopia itself didnt have problem. Final and binding border agreement and Abiy Nobel peace price for implementing it.

@martinplaut Did Ethiopia really “recognize” its own landlocking? Ethiopia had no elected national government then - just two rebel movements who exploited the fall of the Derg. It was a geopolitical project which didn’t end, a time bomb for Egypt and the Arabs who supported the rebels.

@ralpfrsmith @martinplaut Well Ethiopia was never ever colonized right...but Assab was by Italy. Ethiopia main port was Djibouti that's why they had railway since 1890s from there. Illegal annexation after federation in 1961 and use of port from then til 91 doesn't make it ethiopias. Stop your nonsense

Supporters of the Eritrean regime whom I met in Stockholm: the answer is no. I was not born in Mekele, Ethiopia, but in Keren, Eritrea. I would have been just as happy if I had been born in Mekele. Haha, I don’t understand. I dream of something beautiful for Eritrea. you?
