No way! Israel, who clearly is not aligned with the operational objectives of the United States and instead wants a “failed state” and the total destruction of Iran, supports strikes against Iranian power plants which will ultimately result in the suffering of the Iranian people as well as mass attacks against, not Israel, but energy and desalination infrastructure in the Gulf States. What a surprise!
OSINTdefender@sentdefender

Israel is interested in a wide-scale attacks on Iran’s energy facilities and supports the recent 48-hour ultimatum issued by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, according to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.

Scoop: Mark Zuckerberg is building a CEO agent to help him do his job, according to a person familiar with the project. Employees are also adopting AI agents and AI tools internally, namely My Claw and Second Brain, in a bid to speed up work, as they get graded on AI use.

Obviously yes. A killer drone costs $700. A Russian soldier's signing bonus is $40,000. That's a 57x cost advantage. Russia's GDP is only 11x that of Ukraine. So Even if you use 4 drones to kill one soldier it's worth it.
panthe@pantheEU

@dim0kq Is it worth wasting one drone for one soldier?

Glenn Greenwald takes a short break from sucking toes in the favela to express genocidal glee at indiscriminate Iranian bombing of Israeli cities. Something tells me this guy isn’t actually a concerned humanitarian - I think he just really hates Western countries and wants jihadists to kill us all!

Former Reuters bureau chief who lost his job and is now struggling to survive as a taxi driver: "In my previous jobs, I interviewed prime ministers and CEOs (...) We are all improvising, all one broken transmission or missed paycheck away from something even worse (...) in the United States, more than 10,000 journalists lost their jobs between 2022 and 2024 (...) Google, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok have gobbled up the advertising dollars, and campy 30-second videos by influencers now deliver what passes for news on social media (...) my family (...) flew to Italy, where they could live rent-free in a family member’s home (...) After I said goodbye to them, I wept uncontrollably in the airport parking lot, not knowing when I would see them again (...) I trust an app to buy me another day"

Trump is going to hit the power plants because he wants to turn the lights out for a variety of reasons, many of which pertaining to the seizure of Kharg Island. As @sethjlevy said, it'd certainly be on my list. But by giving this ultimatum, Trump forces the regime to respond with pride wnd put themselves in a no-win situation. When Iran goes to retaliate, their missiles and drones won't land. We will intercept everything. Because we're waiting for it. And they'll reveal the location of, probably, their final launchers. Or they fail to live up to their word and the regime collapses under the weight of how weak they've shown the world they are.

@ThetiMapping What I am confused about is why collapsing tunnel entrances is not being effective. You would think re-excavating a tunnel would take months and heavy equipment that would be easy to spot and destroy from the air.

👇Many people are wondering how Iran continues to fire a steady amount of ballistic missiles both at Israel and the GCC on a daily basis, even managing to increase the rate of fire recently. I've mapped out the most popular Iranian missile bases used for such launches. - Green icon = most frequently used launch sites - Yellow = intermittent launches, a few recorded incidents over the past 1-2 weeks - Red = launches on rare occasions This map shows how the center of gravity for Iranian launches on Israel quickly shifted away from major silos the western part of the country (Tabriz, Urmia, Kermanshah & Dezful) towards the center. The most frequent launches come from the Koohestan (Yazd) missile base, located at least 1730km away from Israel. Yesterday the US dropped bunker busters on this facility, targeting above-ground structures and tunnel entrances. Over the coming days we'll see whether this actually has an effect on the launches. Other popular firing posts towards Israel include Shiraz, Isfahan, and Tehran. There are at least 3 separate launching points near each of those cities. I would wager the number in the Tehran metro area is even larger, and I have some theories as to where additional BMs are stored, but I can't verify it with satellite imagery. In all likelihood I've missed a handful of bases, but at least I compiled all the publicly known ones (30 that are at least somewhat active as of the past fortnight). The blue lines represent potential trajectories from the most popular launch spots. It can be seen that there a few bases located at exceptionally long ranges, such as Shahmirzad & Shahrud. The damage to these sites is insignificant, and their importance will increase when Iran decides to preserve its remaining stockpiles and TELs in the central part of the country. There are even rare instances where a single launch comes out of the western missile bases. This is possible if most of the preparation is done underground and the TEL shoots and scoots, returning to hardened tunnels covered by dozens or even 100+ meters of granite. But such a manuever is risky due to strong Israeli recon UAV presence in western Iran and frequent aircraft sorties along the Iraq border. So far Israel's been more effective in suppressing missile fire from western Iran than CENTCOM has been along the southern coast. Even bases that are basically tangent to the Persian Gulf remain relatively active. Over the past 3 days the US has tried to remedy this by focus much of their firepower on underground weapons depots at tactical airbases, anti-ship missile storage, and ballistic missile sites. Most notably, there were heavy strikes on the Borazjan missile base in Bushehr Province.

👀 NY appellate court just struck down a state law that requires owners to accept Section 8 tenants, on the basis that it violates owners’ 4A rights (ie govt access to the owners units to do inspections and other warrantless searches is unconstitutional). Expected to go to highest court.

Yesterday I mentioned that I do a great deal of my gaming using DOS (FreeDOS, MS-DOS, & DOSBox), as many of my all-time favorite games are DOS games. A bunch of you asked which games I was talking about. Here’s a few of the games I find myself returning to on a regular basis: - Civilization 1 - Master of Orion 2 - SimCity 2000 Those three alone make any system worth having by your side. And that doesn’t even include the massive catalog of some of the best adventure and role playing games ever. The Ultima series, Day of the Tentacle, early Elder Scrolls games… so much.

@CUDAHandbook It’s not just lack of innovation hurting Windows. It is the precipitous decline in quality. Windows hasn’t had a decent working search in decades at this point. And yet the search daemon still hogs system resources. The react/winui rewrites were pointless and perform terribly.

I worked in Microsoft’s Systems Division in the mid to late 1990s, when Windows NT was winning market share from the clown car of UNIX variants offered by various workstation and server vendors. Linux was in ascendancy, but not soon enough to forestall the migration of 1/x
Joe@josephradhik

Ridiculous. To witness a perfectly usable operating system nosedive in quality over the past 5 years, has been painful. W11 is pathetic in so many ways, the fact that you have to debloat, "winhance", and more, just to make the damn thing work. W11 is a mirror of everything that has gone wrong in the software side recently. And yes, I'm a daily power user.

@FracturedRTS Overlooked is that fancy 3d graphics and realistic colors often end up just making the units and structures look like mud and hard to follow. Even the 8 Bit series suffers from this. C&C and RA has extremely distinctive units and buildings that were trivial to tell at a glance.

That'd be the ideal outcome. We take Kharg and IRGC regime falls. 1) How do you think we will take Kharg? 2) Will the world tolerate oil at $150 to $200? When we take Kharg, IRGC will destroy GCC oil/gas facilities too. Personally, I think we will bomb for another 2 weeks and say we're done here, and move on. Iranian opposition is completely worthless. If they had the guts, they'd be on the street already taking over. World doesn't have the guts to tolerate oil at $150 to $200 for 3-6 months.
