Planning on entering Ult at CEO this year, but I am struggling to enjoy practicing it. I think it being wifi isn't helping, but finding myself just getting aggravated at the design of it more often. Maybe it'll change as I start playing a little more. I can't enjoy the mashiness.

I really think this comes down to the fact that stages don't matter much in Ultimate AT ALL with the current ruleset.
We should be adding Lylat and the Yoshi stages into the ruleset to make Steve worse, + game more balanced AND game less campy (this accomplishes all 3 at once).

@Mr_RSmash I think in terms of carried, many top MKs (me/nairo/zero) were also great at (or top 1 at) other Smash games. I think MK rewards being good at smash in a fundamental way, like a different version of SSBM Fox/Marth, while Steve plays his own game. I do think Steve carries harder.

If the Steve stage ban clause wasn’t “fair” then Nintendo wouldn’t have granted a license for a tournament with it in the ruleset

@RockManSSB If TOs adjust when needed, starting at 0 or 1 bans is fine. The Smash community tends to reduce nerfs rather than add more, so 0 makes sense. But if nerfs make matchups unviable while Steve's win rate stays high, will they roll them back?

I will say this, after thinking it through more I feel like a lot of Steve’s are overexaggerating. The no ban rule hurts, but not to a character killing degree.
Most Steve’s are just afraid of getting circle camped in a few MU’s but we’ll have to wait and see how big that is
