McCullum definitely wouldn’t still be coach if Lord Harris, Plum Warner or Gubby Allen were still in charge. It would be amusing to see them collectively giving him a dressing down.

@lfg_uk Simple, planning! Everyone thinks it’s a good idea until it goes through there area then it becomes the worst idea ever and gets bogged down in legal reviews.

Is this acceptable? Since 1990, Spain has built nearly 7,000 miles of motorway. So ... what about the UK? We have built 422 miles of motorway in 35 years. 35 years – 422 miles. Thats only twelve miles every year. Why have we stopped building?

@NoContextCounty Darren Stevens would take 5/12 then score a 100 putting on 80 odd for 10th wicket too and follow it up with 7/20 in 2nd innings

A polite note for clarity and to inform debate, it’s difficult to interpret this as a serious, professional operation by Iran's intelligence services—approaching one of the UK's most heavily guarded military sites and hoping for a favourable response? That doesn't suggest elite tradecraft. If it was state-directed, they're either sourcing the lowest-tier assets, or it was a rogue, low-level stunt. More likely, it could be personal, misguided tourism gone awry, or outright stupidity—yet the timing and nationality raise clear red flags amid UK-Iran tensions. Enquiries are ongoing, according to Police Scotland: "A 34-year-old man and 31-year-old woman have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing." No charges have been announced yet, nor details on custody or the nature of the detention (whether terrorism-related or security breach). Either way, this is an unusual method for breaching a maximum-security nuclear site. If this is their best effort, the base security team probably had an easy afternoon. 🙄

At around 5pm on Thursday, two people, a woman and a 34-year-old Iranian man, were arrested after attempting to enter HMNB Clyde in Faslane. Dumb and dumber... "they did not try to force their way into the base. They asked if they could enter but were refused permission and were then arrested shortly afterwards" dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-…

@WG_RumblePants @StickToCricket Bowling is key finding a partner for Tongue who can play more than 2 tests, a top class spinner who can bowl all day too. Then reading the game situation we should never be 100 ahead on 2nd day and lose before the end of play.

@StickToCricket Their inability to adapt, change gear and dig in. Sometimes attack is the right answer. It’s not always the right answer. All that said, we need to find some bowlers who can genuinely intimdate and unnerve the opposition. We don’t really have any. That’s the bigger issue.

Pete Hegseth is becoming the face of the Iran war. And not in a good way. His delivery style is a cross between a fired candidate from The Apprentice and a high school Jock. The fact that he’s the Secretary of State for War is absolutely mind blowing.

@BlueMondayITFC We can expect some real dodgy stuff on Saturday especially given Wednesday haven’t won at home since September. We need a bingo card for it, soft penalty, red card, offside goals

The case for Royal Navy SSKs - real ones, not glorified sonobuoys* that we hope/pretend will suffice - is overwhelming. “But they don’t have an SSN’s range!” Yes, but in the GIUK Gap, Med, Mid-Atlantic, S Atlantic, or even Gulf/Malacca/Mid-IO, they’re always near UK bases. 1/8
Iain Ballantyne@IBallantyn

@AlexLuck9 @Thomas977673521 Should have a similar effect today - great to work with allies. Superb subs. Now buy some UK. Needed for so many reasons to save the Submarine Service (not to replace SSNs but complement them).
