you shouldn't have to spend 20 minutes in 3 apps just to figure out what happened across your channels yesterday. we built Daily Pulse to fix that. what changed. what's working. on demand. joinveri.co

SpaceX’s Raptor 3 engine is sublime engineering • No basic heat shield needed → saves mass and dramatically boosts reliability • Small fuel leaks aren’t dangerous — they simply burn off safely in the open plasma • Major improvements in payload capacity, efficiency, and overall reliability • Radically simplified design with deeply integrated electronics and fluid systems • So clean and minimalist that even propulsion experts initially thought it looked “unfinished”

The best indicator of success for future leaders? Their ability to think from a blank page 📃 Most people have a ‘boss’ to make the tough calls or provide advice Leaders / Entrepreneurs do not. They are left on their own to figure everything out Entire strategies and execution from A to Z No playbook. No ‘next step’ Finding people who can start from a blank page means - they do not need to be told what to do - you can safely delegate tasks to them - they in turn can lead a team of people When you find someone capable of this, give them free reins to succeed 🙌

@karpathy So true, I used to call it ‘ownership’ and is one of the hardest trait to hire for!

Agency > Intelligence I had this intuitively wrong for decades, I think due to a pervasive cultural veneration of intelligence, various entertainment/media, obsession with IQ etc. Agency is significantly more powerful and significantly more scarce. Are you hiring for agency? Are we educating for agency? Are you acting as if you had 10X agency? Grok explanation is ~close: “Agency, as a personality trait, refers to an individual's capacity to take initiative, make decisions, and exert control over their actions and environment. It’s about being proactive rather than reactive—someone with high agency doesn’t just let life happen to them; they shape it. Think of it as a blend of self-efficacy, determination, and a sense of ownership over one’s path. People with strong agency tend to set goals and pursue them with confidence, even in the face of obstacles. They’re the type to say, “I’ll figure it out,” and then actually do it. On the flip side, someone low in agency might feel more like a passenger in their own life, waiting for external forces—like luck, other people, or circumstances—to dictate what happens next. It’s not quite the same as assertiveness or ambition, though it can overlap. Agency is quieter, more internal—it’s the belief that you *can* act, paired with the will to follow through. Psychologists often tie it to concepts like locus of control: high-agency folks lean toward an internal locus, feeling they steer their fate, while low-agency folks might lean external, seeing life as something that happens *to* them.”

Intelligence is on tap now so agency is even more important

if you've ever been called a "super-connector" and you're NOT yet hosting curated dinners. I highly recommend you begin doing so. Prior to getting into events & creating end to end experiences for people - all my deals would typically involve me introducing two people to one another, some kind of contract would be involved & then we'd follow through on the deal. Sure, I still do that from time to time. But the value I can bring to my tribe is far higher when I loosen the reins a little. In the short term? Theres a slight sacrifice You don't capture ALL the brokerage fees you might have done by focusing on each deal one by one in a super specific fashion. But what you DO get is a massive uptick in economic activity for a bunch of people at the same time. Always remember, if your tribe is winning - you're winning. You're not doing "life" alone. In the long term? You have a thriving network of winners. Who all want to see you win. Are there deals that get done where you don't get a direct fee? Absolutely. Do the guests all somehow remember that you're the one who brought them together? Yes. So, who do you invite to your event though? its a bit of an art really... you can't just bring one type of person - theres got to be a bit of a mix! crypto events, require artists.. performers & other awesome humans who excel in their own field. The cross-polination allows for new insights, ways of thinking & the ability to learn from one another in ways not typically available if you've BOTH been in the exact same industry for the last 5-6 years. Use your events as ways to break people out of their own echo chambers You just need a few small threads that tie each of them together, while keeping them unique & different enough to be interesting. How big do you start? If you're just beginning I recommend aiming for 8-10 people. These can form your "core" or "foundation" of the tribe. Then co-create larger events with them based on what you know you all like. Filter for the people who don't add to the vibe in meaningful way. Rinse & repeat. Win, together. (I didn't have time to write you a short tweet, so I wrote you a long one.. xoxox GN)
