If we’re going to give Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa, we have to be 100% certain we’re replacing his goals.
Joao Pedro replaced them last year, but it still wasn’t enough. Would be good to have guaranteed 10+ extra goals in our arsenal rather than an unknown in Emegha.

Selling Jackson to Villa to fund Rogers is exactly the kind of terrible business that we love to do. Strengthening a top four rival while weakening ourselves and still finding ourselves probably £50m out of pocket. Insanity.

Morgan Rogers Update • Morgan Rogers has given preference to joining the English champions. There is no doubt Enzo is clutch (certainly for Argentina, doesn’t do it enough for Chelsea in my eyes) and there is no doubting he is good, sometimes great.
My issues haven’t been with that. My issue is the player clearly wanting to leave and the player clearly works better in a 3 man midfield.
I have always felt that he doesn’t work in a pivot. Me saying that doesn’t mean I don’t rate him. I just don’t rate him in that system. There is a difference.
If he decides to stay (which from what I have heard still isn’t the case) and Alonso is able to find a way to use him where we aren’t run through continuously in transition, then happy days.
I spoke about this before, if you build a team around him, there is going to have to be sacrifices. Maresca had to invert a full back, or you have to take out a conventional 10 and only play 3 up top.
He was brilliant last night. But a WC game is very different to a Prem game. Different styles, different tempos etc.
As a Chelsea fan, I only want what’s best for the team. If that means Enzo stays and stops these flirting games with leaving, then so be it.
Let’s see what happens.

The club did the right thing deleting that post last night, the problem is you either get it or you don’t. And those who don’t get it, that’s ok but don’t go round telling others to feel. English club, based in London with a very large English fanbase with people who have gone out to the US, spent thousands, used life savings. Nobody is saying you can’t just ignore and congratulate a player who plays for Chelsea, look at Man Utd’s post that’s the way to read the room and be time sensitive of its fan bases. Also very interesting the defence it got over a player who was suspended for flirting/engineering a move to leave Chelsea so before you mention respect, cut the bullshit.
