If we’re going to give Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa, we have to be 100% certain we’re replacing his goals. Joao Pedro replaced them last year, but it still wasn’t enough. Would be good to have guaranteed 10+ extra goals in our arsenal rather than an unknown in Emegha.

Selling Jackson to Villa to fund Rogers is exactly the kind of terrible business that we love to do. Strengthening a top four rival while weakening ourselves and still finding ourselves probably £50m out of pocket. Insanity. We're the worst run club in England.

"Pleading with Morgan"

Morgan Rogers Update • Morgan Rogers has given preference to joining the English champions. Other clubs are still actively in the race but acknowledge the player's current preference. • Morgan Rogers has respectfully communicated his desire to leave to senior figures at Villa (significant). • Personal terms have been explored and are not a hindrance at all. • Morgan Rogers is sold on the Mikel Arteta project and plan for him. • Morgan Rogers was on the shortlist of attacking reinforcements Arsenal discussed last summer. • My understanding is that Villa and Arsenal are in contact through unofficial channels regarding any potential deal. Remember my words: the fee is key to this deal. The player is fully on board. • Andrea Berta has asked to be kept fully informed about any other club making a move for Morgan. If Arsenal do make a move, there will be another update. Chelsea, in particular, have been pleading with Morgan to showcase their plan for him, but as of today, the response is "Arsenal." Manchester United have also explored the situation of Morgan, with Carrick being a big fan. Bradley Barcola and one other player are also of interest to Arsenal. Details on that in due time. Arsenal are also in direct contact with multiple midfielders, as recently as a few days ago. The likes of Bouaddi, Scott, Kone, Larsson, and two others. As I mentioned yesterday, we are yet to make contact with any club officially while Berta explores personal terms with all of them. One of these players is convinced he is joining Arsenal. It's important to remember that Livramento also felt the same way, but it highlights how strong the conversations are. Arsenal are also monitoring the Madrid midfielder situation. Tonali was offered to us in January; talks have never surpassed personal terms as of today. These clubs are using Elliot Anderson's deal as a market scale. Newcastle want crazy money, as do Palace for Wharton. Personally, I hope its Ayyoub Bouaddi we accelerate a move for! Taking a very short holiday. I'll be back! It’s not that Enzo scored against England, it’s that he’s desperate to leave.

We will never admit it but selling him to keep Neto was genuinely a very big mistake.

With regards to Enzo Fernandez, you morons seem to be completely missing something. This has nothing to do with a new contract. This has nothing to do with signing better players. This has nothing to do with Xabi Alonso. Enzo Fernandez has wanted OUT since Poch. HE WANTS OUT!!

🚨 Atletico Madrid are considering a move for Enzo Fernández, with initial interest described as tentative, according to SPTC Sources. Chelsea's midfielder remains keen to leave this summer, while other clubs are also monitoring his situation. Any formal approach from Atletico could test Enzo's willingness to move, despite Real Madrid reportedly being his preferred destination. #CFC 👀

There is no doubt Enzo is clutch (certainly for Argentina, doesn’t do it enough for Chelsea in my eyes) and there is no doubting he is good, sometimes great. My issues haven’t been with that. My issue is the player clearly wanting to leave and the player clearly works better in a 3 man midfield. I have always felt that he doesn’t work in a pivot. Me saying that doesn’t mean I don’t rate him. I just don’t rate him in that system. There is a difference. If he decides to stay (which from what I have heard still isn’t the case) and Alonso is able to find a way to use him where we aren’t run through continuously in transition, then happy days. I spoke about this before, if you build a team around him, there is going to have to be sacrifices. Maresca had to invert a full back, or you have to take out a conventional 10 and only play 3 up top. He was brilliant last night. But a WC game is very different to a Prem game. Different styles, different tempos etc. As a Chelsea fan, I only want what’s best for the team. If that means Enzo stays and stops these flirting games with leaving, then so be it. Let’s see what happens.

The club did the right thing deleting that post last night, the problem is you either get it or you don’t. And those who don’t get it, that’s ok but don’t go round telling others to feel. English club, based in London with a very large English fanbase with people who have gone out to the US, spent thousands, used life savings. Nobody is saying you can’t just ignore and congratulate a player who plays for Chelsea, look at Man Utd’s post that’s the way to read the room and be time sensitive of its fan bases. Also very interesting the defence it got over a player who was suspended for flirting/engineering a move to leave Chelsea so before you mention respect, cut the bullshit.
