Really grateful to have been given the opportunity to present at another @physoc conference. Great to catch up with colleagues and meet new researchers in the muscle field. Nice bonus to have been chosen for the ECR oral communication award 😀

🎉 Many congratulations to the #EarlyCareerResearchers competition winners! The winners & runners ups for the Flash Talks & Oral Communications were announced at our #MuscleLoss meeting @UniofExeter. Well done to all the awardees and presenters, see details below 🧵 1/3

Really enjoyed learning more about Genomics, Proteomics and Biodata. Always a bonus to showcase some of our work on the ageing muscle proteome and engage in some great discussions #FOG2024

Happy to see my first PhD project now published! Here we studied the mechanisms of ubiquitylation utilised by a family of muscle-specific enzymes known as MuRF E3 ligases. doi.org/10.1016/j.bbre…

Really cool new paper "The tRNA-GCN2-FBXO22-axis-mediated mTOR ubiquitination senses amino acid insufficiency" at @Cell_Metabolism ! An entirely new way in which mTOR senses AA deficiency cell.com/cell-metabolis… Thanks @pak_heidi for pointing out this one.

Great to have been part of this larger project! I’m now very intrigued about the Leloir pathway and studying it further with our new cell line 🧫
Gareth Wallis@gareth_wallis

Lots of questions here around if the circulating galactose is/was used for glycogen synthesis. We don't have the answers. Our exploratory analysis by @alex_seabright @SamLord98 and @RitaCivil saw human skeletal muscle expresses Leloir pathway enzymes at gene and protein level 6/7
