June 6th D-Day. Canadians took Juno Beach. We had over 900 killed or wounded. Even though we were last to land we ended up far ahead of British and American forces at the end of the day. Juno beach was most successful landing that day. Lest we forget.

Kalen Schlatter guilty of first degree murder as Richey family members cry out. They’re weeping at the verdict.

Schlatter appears pale as he waits for the verdict in the seven week plus long murder trial.

We are tensely waiting for the verdict in the Kalen Schlatter trial as both his and Tess Richey families sit inside court.

Schlatter said he boasted to undercover cops to impress them and wanted them to like him. He had never been in jail before.

He denied saying to undercover cops that he pretended to be emotional but said he “acted emotional”. Earlier he paused during testimony to wipe away tears. Said Tess was alive when he left her that day.

He said you should not push boundaries with women to get sex.

Schlatter admits he says he slept with 40 women. Told them he denied being gay so he wouldn’t be abused in jail. Admitted he lied that he was grinding with Tess at the bar. He is bisexual.

Schlatter says he found out Richey had died through a friend who saw it on CP24. He left her alive after she declined his invitation to come home.

Schlatter was embarrassed that he came in his pants while making out with Richey. He says making out was her idea but no intercourse as she was on her period.

Kalen Schlatter denied murdering, sexually assaulting or assaulting Tess Richey as he started testifying today at his murder trial.

My dear friend Christie Blatchford passed away today. In court, Justice Michael Dambrot noted she “I wanted to acknowledge my sadness at the passing of CB whom I believed to be a fearless reporter.” Thanks to all my friends who expressed their condolences today.
